I have two different UVB bulbs. One is higher output medical grade and the other is a reptile fluorescent bulb. Since I don't have any idea on how long, I think I"ll do it for a couple of hours. I'm going to put my low temp long duraction decbard'd rosin under it. Thanks for pointing that out.

I had a good little chuckle tonight with a friend about how the goal is to grow high grade THC, but then I'm going to purposely degrade it. But not all of it!!!
I'm hoping to take what I know about producing CBN and doing something to make it happen.
I decarb'd a half gram of rosin at 175F for 4 hours last night.
Then I took a partial jar of semi cured flower and the decarb'd rosin and put it under a UVB bulb for 4 hours late last night. I'm going to press the flower in to rosin and then decarb the rosin. And then do some dabs and see what the affect is. If it's sedative, then I'll make some chocolate out of it.

Might as well keep posting on the CBN adventures. You never know, this might help others out later.

Not to mention the stuff is very popular with my friends.
Anyway, this is my first CBN focused chocolate bar.
The next plan is to reserve a couple of indica dominant plants in my latest grow and let them go all amber. I think that will be an important step in the CBN production process. If your plant material doesn't at least have a CBN bent to it, you won't get as much out of it. So I'll see how this batch works and enjoy the med dark chocolate with sea salt and cannboids.

CBN is the reason I like late harvests. And long cures. Also why I sometimes I like "old gold" bargain bud.
Warning. Crazy stoner thinking to follow:
Imagine growing 3 strains, 1 for CBD, 1 high THC strain of your choice, and 1 relatively high CBN hash-plant to be processed for even higher CBN. You could dial in so many different experiences- a truly customized effect.

Does anyone know if CBN needs decarb to be effective? I don't imagine it would.
If it doesn't, one could process the weed to CBN and not decarb, further isolating the effects of CBN.

@VitaMan I intend to do exactly that. I am growing a Dinamed CBD 1:25 to mix its rosin into chocolate bars at various ratios with THC rosin for different meds........................... Does that mean I am a Crazy stoner?
I have some buds a couple of years old that are probably rich in CBN.This excerpt is from Wikipedia:
"Unlike other cannabinoids, CBN does not stem directly from cannabigerol (CBG) or cannabigerolic acid (CBGA) but rather is the degraded product of tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA). If cannabis is exposed to air or ultraviolet light (for example, in sunlight) for a prolonged period of time, THCA will convert to cannabinolic acid (CBNA). CBN is then formed by decarboxylation of CBNA."
