Old Reviews HPS compact ballast

agito are there not breeders here on afn using leds.(cant think of his whole name) ed ros....is testing leds and has said he thinks they are the future.im no expert on leds but have read a lot on them, the technology coming down the line is unreal. another thing about glasgow grower if hes a newbie to growing leds are a lot less hassle. its something he should even think about. :peace: sj
no he said there only suitable for supplemental lighting
I was meaning professional breeders with with 6-7 figure incomes

The LEDs I’m now testing are mind blowing. Running the best HID (in my opinion) out there. A hybrid dual arc MH/HPS with an electronic dimmable ballast(ballast never gets hot). 600wt, 750wt, 1000wt and a 10% “super” notch all on the same bulb and ballast. This bulb has a LUX of 64,000 at 24” on high. That is reading the complete visible spectrum. My LED is 287wts and is getting a reading of 68000LUV at 24”. Now remember that the LUX meter is not a spectrometer reading nm by nm. It’s a “broad band light meter” so the LED is putting out a huge amount of the 4 spectrums that the plant uses compared to the HID. I have to get these under a spectrometer to give you exact numbers, but it indicates about 3-4 times the red and blue the HID is producing. At $500 it’s a screamer. I had 90 degree lens put into it but for autos, I’m suggesting 120 degree lenses which will cover a larger area than the 90degrees do. (Also, I have added IR to the new one coming)

For HID guys, I would strongly recommend this dual arc set up but if you want to spin into the new age, this LED is the ticket. No heat, screaming light that these plants love.

You sure thats right that lux looks far to high for led

lux is based on a sqm the 600 is lighting more than this? even the these figures seem wrong for the hps as well

1.2m! you need a 600w min actually a 1000w is ideal
