I wasn't going to grow anything till August/September due to the heat in my neck of the woods this time of year and I cant grow outdoors........But, I cant pass up a growing comp no matter how silly, so I threw my hat into the Chip Bag Grow Off.
and since I've been drooling over everybody's Mephisto grows, and it was going to be next, its Hubbabubbasmelliscope time!
my growing container is a cheeto popcorn bag that held 2 5/8 oz of popped corn. its about 9-10 inches tall and about 4-5 in wide with soil. I'm using Fox Farms Happy Frog soil and I'll be feeding primarily with Dr. Earths Nitro Big and Golden Bloom and Flower Girl line supplemented with Alaska Fish,EWC,Kelp and Guano Teas.
Lighting will be with a Mars-Hydro 96x3w reflector series LED ran on 12-12 due to the heat.
Apollo Hort 36x19x63 inch tent with a 4in exhaust fan on a variable speed controller and a phresh carbon filter.
I tried soaking a bean in a cup of water like I always do but nothing happened. thankfully Margahoola suggested just dropping it in soil, and as anyone whose looked at a Mephisto grow knows, Marg knows a thing or 2 about them. so I dropped 1 and less than 3 days later up she comes. officially yesterday was day 1. small but sweet should be a monster.
that's about it for now. any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks for looking

Nice start elsam

Good luck with the comp. :)
Hubba Bubba and Heat sounds like a Dukes of Hazzard scenario, a couple of good ol' boys up to no good with the heat breathing down their neck lol
Good idea with the lighting 12/12, if it gets any hotter where I am, I'll be reducing my daytime light as well.
I don't know anything about your compost or nutes (I'm not in US) but liking your supplements and teas.
Mitch's genetics, as I think we all know by now are good gear, a well grown bean can have a hard shell, nice to see it shrugged it off in the soil. Marga sure does know Mephisto, nice advice given!
I am looking forward to see what you can do in your popcorn bag, I bet Chester never thought there would be a plant growing out of his head lol
Good luck bro and have a good grow

thanks for the kind words Arty. the Dr. E nutes are an organic line with all the thing you would use in a tea plus mycos and yucca and aloe as a wetting agent. I used it on my last grow and am happy with the results. I'm slowly trying to go full organic with all the tea ingredients I've been collecting. now if only I can figure out how to plumb into my A/C.

I just can't wait to see how these end up.
me too

day 4. still not big enough for a good picture but really looking like a plant. beautiful forest green. I've never had a sprout this bright of a green. I do believe shes going to do well despite me. at least the temps are constant 77-87f range even with the outdoor temps climbing up. going to get some silica supplement after her roots fill out. maybe that will help some, make her tough.

sorry about the blurry pic.damn camera keeps focusing on the soil

day 18. not too much to report on, just steady as she goes. seems to have put her roots down and is starting to get her veg on. shes only getting water right now with some Alpha-thrive root stimulator( benne/mycos and the such) very healthy green and growing.:D heres a few pics

Is it legal to reinforce the bags? I would wrap the bag in clear plastic tape, the heavy duty kind, and poke or cut holes periodically around the outside, creating an air-pot of sorts. Will be interesting to see how big she gets in that little bag!
