Mephisto Genetics Hubbabubbasmelloscope is taking me back to Maastricht (In my mind at least)

Just read about the Hubbabubbasmelloscope on the mephisto page. I know, I know really? Just now reading about her. Well I thought I did but apparently not. So anyway I read the description and It got me very very excited. Below is an excerp from the description that got me all giggly.

"Hubbabubbasmelloscope is a very special part of our collection. Many years ago Bubblegum was the first Amsterdam cannabis we experienced, and so holds a sentimental reason to us. A couple of years ago we were lucky enough to be given a very special bubblegum cutting of 90’s serious seeds origin".

I was stationed in Germany from 93' to 97' and every weekend I could,me and a couple of buddies would drive up to Amsterdam and party it up. Absolutely loved that place. Well one day I was sitting in a coffee shop sharing a spliff with the bartender and was telling him the only thing that sucks about this place was the 4 1/2 drive to get there. He asked me If I ever stopped in Maastricht a town right across the border It like a mini Amsterdam. I was surprised i thought coffee shops were only in Amsterdam. So I tipped him a spliff and went back to Germany.

Next weekend rolls around and none of my buddies could go with me so I headed to Maastricht on my own. Talk about a beautiful town. I was in love. The people were friendly and sure enough they had coffee shops. I was In heaven and only 2 hours away from my house. I went into the first coffee house I found and It was perfect. Nice ambient light, good music and super friendly staff and patrons.

Here's the only bad part. I for the life of me can not remember the name of the shop or the names of the bartenders. This really bugs me.

So anyway I was looking over the menu when the bartender comes up to finds out I am an american BAM all of a sudden I became his best friend. I picked out my first choice and said absolutely not you have got to try our newest product BUBBLEGUM SKUNK. All I can say still to this day is HOLY SHIT!I believe on that day was the day I got the highest I ever got in my life! Its what I compare all my other highs to.

I tried others while there but I always had to have my bubblegum. It was the best times of my life. I hope one day to go back but unfortunately I am not rich and there are other parts of the world I want to travel to but Maastricht and Bubblegum skunk will always live on inside me.

Heh, I could have bumped into you. I was driving up from Heidelberg. We always went to the coffee shops in boats on the river. There was a chill hippieish one, and the scary goth/industrial/biker one next door. Not very welcoming, but they had great hash!

What an awesome little corner of the world it was.

I was definitely in the chill hippy one. I'll be doing some research today I am hoping it will come back to me.

I was in Wurzburg. Jeeze Its a good thing to check what I thought I remembered. I was just checking google maps to remember where Heidelberg is and realized I was 6 hours from Amsterdam and 4 hours from Maastricht. Damn I wish I could remember this stuff better makes me wish that it was the digital age with the cloud and cameras. I lost all my European memorabilia In a fire shortly after I got back to the states.

I think the boat was "Smoking", but it has been so long.
