sour bubbly popped a short tap root when I checked last night, than this afternoon she was well off and planted :thumbs:

hubbabubba has yet to pop, it seemed like it was starting to split along one edge so I put her back to germ a bit longer

Sour bubbly already popped her head up!

It's been 3 days since both were placed for germination and hubbabubba hasn't cracked yet so I placed a new bean in the paper towel. I'll wait three days to let the seed that didn't go dry out, scarify the edge and try again in a while, she had beauty dark streaks on her she'll and was fairly larger and darker than the rest in the pack, maybe I will pre soak it the next time I try her again

Hi gilly

We randomly germ tested the hbss before sending out, as we do all our strains.

Our rule of thumb is to take the lesser desirable looking seeds and aim for 90% +
You could try pre-cracking it, but you should not have to...

I will do another test after the weekend , and I'll resend if necessary.

Not trying to hijack thread but I don't get why everyone mucks around germinating seeds? Pre water your medium, sit on heating mat over night, sow seed direct to medium with no soaking etc cover with Saran Wrap, poke a hole, than cover with plastic bag, than paper bag and leave on heating mat.check in two days if nothing gently mist, recover and checking again in another 36hrs.... Never not had one germ that way.... Sending :karma Cloud: you way

We put our beans into toilet paper, or kitchen roll. Spray until wet. Fold up inside DVD case, wrap DVD case in a t-shirt, and place above the top bar in a tent.
With the tent on 12/12 it's taking 72 hours max.
