Today I PH adjusted tap water to 6.5. Water temperature was about 27 C. The water EC stayed at 0.2. I was surprised as PH down adds to the EC.

I then have a cup of straight tap water 8.5 PH and EC 0.2.

I will test both cups of water over the next 3-5 days to see how time and evaporation effects PH levels. And see how long the PH down keeps me at 6.5.
I plan to run automatic irrigation in the form of a water pump or blumats. I need to know if I have a rez of water for 1 week, What will be the PH drift by the end of the week?

Also i read that if you PH drift up, start with a rez PH of 5.8 and left it drift to 7 and then make a fresh mix. I read the PH drift allows the plant to get every nutrient and reduce lockout.

Tap water PH, EC and Temp

80 PPM x 500 scale = 0.2 EC

After PH adjusting it was still 0.2 EC and 6.5 PH.

After these tests are complete I will mix up a 1/4 strength Bloom mix and PH down. Then record how long it remains PH stable with the fertilizer and PH down.

So my first test results are done. It has been 19 hours.

Tap water: 8.5 (no change)

Tap water with PH down to 6.6. The PH down continued to react with the water. I tested today it was 3.3 PH! I dilluted with tap water to bring it up to 6.5. Lets see tomorrow if it is still stable at 6.5.

Full strength SuperNatural Bloom with tap water: Yesterday it was 6.6. Today was 6.7
Less than 24 hours and it moved up a point.

If the SuperNatural continues to go up .1 everyday and I want to do weekly rez changes I should add the SuperNatural and PH adjust to 6.0 so by rez changeout I will be at 6.7.

My last test will be how long does Supernatural at 1/4 strength and PH down hold a steady PH. Fertilizer AND PH down together.

I will say this....Why does SuperNatural have their feeding amounts so high? A recommended full strength dose puts my EC at 3.8! Thats insane.

Does anyone know why it says you dont have to PH adjust water for biotabs? Sounds foolish to me........any science behind it?

Tested the water just now

Tap Water 8.4. went down .1 from yesterday.

Tap water adjusted with PH down is now at 7.0! Big jump from yesterday.

SuperNatural and Tap water. 6.8. It is going up by .1 per day.

My conclusion. First 4 weeks do not run a rez. Tap water with PH down, let the water sit 1-2 days to stabilize and then water by hand.

After week 4 mix SuperNatural bloom with tap water at 1/4 strength and PH down to 6.5, change out the rez twice a week to avoid big PH swings.

All of this sounds like a pain in the ass. I have been considering just buying biotabs and running straight tap water.

Last test:

SuperNatural at 1/4 or 1/6 strength.
430 PPM of SuperNatural plus 80 PPM of Tap water and 30 PPM of PH down brought me to 540 PPM and 6.6 PH (1.1) EC

Thats a mid veg EC and I used a very very sloght amount of fertilizer. Powerful powder. Anyway this test is to see how the SuperNatural and PH down react together and what PH drift will happen by this time tomorrow.

Thats a nice rig!

A few things I have does not want you to use ph it kills something or alters it.
Everyone who I know who grows organic I did one organic run they never ph their teas because of the living organisms my teas run a ph over 8 I don't ph them my soil was limed with dolomite it would stay at 6.9 no matter my ph I checked thru whole grow that lime did its job.
My mate replaced all my stuff lost from hurricane looks like I will be growing with fox farm supplies for some time lol it was the only name he knew besides mircale grow from home depot lol
I know this has lots of salt!!Decided to use yucca instead of their bush doctor flush.
What bulb you using this time? My mate got me a weird looking bulb thinking it was mixed together this has a hps and mh bulb in same tube.
Thanks for the journal it will help many good luck on your next grow.:slap:
