Hello I have two 125w hydrofarm fluorowing grow lights and I'm looking to buy a grow tent what size would be good for these lights? I'm really just going to use it to hide my grow from my 8 year old son my wife has tents like these for her dress clothes so he will think she just got another one lol

I have a Secret Jardin tent that is 2x4x5.
Something like that would work. There's all kinds of
sizes, just make sure it's a good brand.
The kid will find it. That's inevitable, you might want something
lockable.
I have a 2 of those lights. They are ok, but I am in the process
of getting HPS for the flowering phase. I will keep using the CFL
for veg.
Something that didn't occur to me was getting a 2700K cfl bulb for flowering.

I have a 2x3x5 and its a pretty good size for a 2 or 3 plant grow I originally purchased a 2x4x5 and it was a little overkill for the corner of my room.
my advice would be to make sure you get a correct size tent to fit the amount of plants you are growing.
i quickly found out that i did not have a big enough tent and i had to go out and get a second one.
One of my grow tents is 60x60x140cm (2x2x4.5 feet) with 6 25w CFL bulbs. I found that without proper ventilation heat quickly built up.
also smell is something that should be thought about as that may lead your son to the tent.

Just a thought have you considered the noise from extraction fans etc? those tents might block the light but they dont block the sound, also the external ducting could be an issue if stumbled across by a youngen especially if not in a med state. He will find it unless its locked away in a private room or he thinks its a server box or something to justify the humming sound.
maybe a roller door cabinet that is lockable might be good to build on for a grow room, you sound proof it externally, they start from like $30 on alibaba

Agree. With the rest... Lock that tent up. You know kids are curious .. That's the last thing I would want my young son or daughter to find...how to explain that? Or even worse don't let u know ... Tell a teacher or something.. Dad hides plants in a tent! Best of luck dude.. Just be safe
I would also consider height if your going with a 4x4.... A 400w or 600w with a air cooled hood HID would work perfect in a tent that size. Sounds like you got everything covered... What strains are you thinking of running? Be sure to post a journal of the new set up :dance: :karma Cloud:
