How are your temps? + How wet is your soil? I would definitely treat you soil asap. all methods above are effective... there is also insecticide for plants that you could use for faster treatment! you could dilute it with water and add a couple drops of dish soap to it. Adding fly strips in the area would help reduce future problems also.

Another great method is also putting vinegar in a plastic bottle mixed with a few drops of dish soap next to your plants. Cut a few small holes at the top of the bottle for air and entry. The gnats are attracted to vinegar and will enter the bottle and wont be able to escape.

Cheers!

awesome, i also took some advice from a gardening website, that recommends putting a few small bowls with a little wine in them which will attract them to the smell of frementation and in return theyll scope it out and end up drowning in it. that sounds good and all, but im worried that the alcohol in the air will also effect my seedlings..haha. am i just being a paranoid wreck?

I just got a bottle of garden safe organic insect soap spray.I also had a few crawlers in my soil and used this and so far i havent seen any since.Walmart menards home depot has it.

*and obviously placing the bowls strategically around the grow room.

my temps are between 77 and 81 degrees always. my soil is slightly moist, but i was gonna give it a few days before my first "real" watering. i split a half gallon of distilled water with a half tsp of root stimulator between 4 plants in 5 gallon pots 2 days ago, but thats it. (other than initially saturating each pot before planting the germ'd seeds)

ok, i got the dunks, its been in the water overnight, im gonna go ahead and water the plants.

Did the Dunks work for you?
As I have the same thing going on Ive only seen 2 but my girls havent even broken the surface of the soil yet... Just curious if it seemed to stun your girls or not?

I had the little bastards for a year but they came with predatory mites to keep them in check. A couple waterings with the dunks and haven't seen 1 in 2 months. Dunks are harmless to plants and animals as well. good luck

Is this a serious problem? Ive also had these little fruit / bar fly types in my little cab - thought it was the use of bat guano as didnt have the problem last go round.

I gave the cab a good clean out last weekend and thats helped massive but should I kill em off completely? Cheers

Neem watering treatment works great for this too. Won't harm your plants. Kills eggs and acts as a natural repellant. GL
