New Grower i have some questions

ive always seen lumens being used over watts due to watts being very different output/penetration wise across different types of lighting.
or maybe youre just talking cfl.

no matter the lamp, as long as It's within the spectrum? 50 watt's per square foot is a basic minimum .....

What spectrum are the lights? Ideally, IMO, you want a mixed spectrum of flower and veg bulbs, but they will finish on either. :D

doesnt seem right to me. wattage is usage but not output. couldnt use a 50 watt incandescent and have that work as theyre super inefficient, same thing with other bulbs being different outputs at identical wattages just a smaller gap compared to that example. (800 versus around 3000cfl lumens at the same wattage)
ive seen alot around the place and it all says that using wattage alone is innacurate, correct me if im wrong but please explain why. and its easy enough to go by lumens makes sense to me.

accuracy wise it goes
par>lumens>watts

but pars harder to work out without a meter i think.

A stoner way smarter then I done the math long ago to get par/lumens into Watts needed per inch. The theory works and nothing says you can't add more lights. Thats the minimum needed.

This is of course that spectrum is meet.

basically It's a way to keep it simple, and as far as incandescent bulbs, anyone thats done there home work, would know thats not the best spectrum, it can be done but with minimal results................

ah id just see new growers asking for info as people who havent done that research and it would make more sense to give them a rule that is easy to follow and accurate across all lighting types, and you were saying any lamp hence the incandescent example but the differences are still important with usable types too. ive seen people make very silly lighting mistakes like that on other forums due to inaccurate info.
anyway never mind just a thought.
