Harvest & Curing I have tons of popcorn buds...why?

Am I missing something? I didn't even think you could grow buds worth smoking with 55w and they will fill out like everyone says over the next 2 weeks. I would be more than happy so far mate. I have seen people with worse under 600w hps systems

Autocobs are the freaking shizzle. They are much more powerful than their 55w would suggest.
If this thing fattens up in the next two weeks I'll be very happy! The only bummer is that my "on deck" plants are busting out of the smaller tent that they are in...they need to be moved into this tent and there is no room.

Maybe I'll put the old Blurple Mars Hydro light on the newcomers and put the second AutoCob on the main plant...do you think that more light would help things along?

Pop corn buds are my biggest pet peeve. I used to get them all the time. I also grow one plant to one 55w autocob..The reason for pop corn buds, is just grow style.. I used to let my plants grow naturally.. Now I'm like, screw that, lol. As soon as the stretch ends, I "lollipop" the plant. I pull off all of the lower nodes on the side branches. Those lower nodes are what turn into popcorn buds/larf. i aslo do it again at the start of flower. Remember, that all through veg, the main cola and all of the branches have been competing to be the tallest and closest to the light. Who ever wins, gets most of the plants energy (that's why people want an "even canopy"). The plant puts very little effort into those lower popcorn buds. Some pop corn buds dont even finish, so I get rid of them early.

Everyone who commented is right about your current plant still needing time though, but as far as popcorn buds go, you have to eliminate them early on.

I agree with the others, more time and plant "maintenance" ..I have learned , that you got to trim the stragglers on the lowers and the loaner popcorn that just show up.. Just like taking sucker shoots off a tomato plant, you want to focus energy to the main flowers., Get light , feed right and she will reward you .

Can I cut the lowest popcorn off now? I mean I even have them within 2" of the dirt right at the lower branches.

Edited to add: I just did this. I had a bunch of little whispy buds and stuff down there. I cleared out the lower 1/3 of the plant.

Can I use these buds to make canna butter?

I'm no expert when it comes to butter or edibles but if the buds have thc on them I see no reason why not.

You can use the whole plant for canna butter. So definitely the fluff at the bottom.

Then harvest a small amount right now.

Harvest 5 times as much as you'd like dry weight, then dry it until it loses about 75-80% of its wet weight.
You can even fast dry it in a food dehydrator at 120 F or below.
Or an oven with door open and fan blowing in.
It might be a bit harsh, somewhat less potent, and will detract from actual harvest, but still might get the job done.

It might even be possible to smoke without drying, but I've never tried it.
If you try this, be sure to smoke 5 times as much wet as you usually do dry, or you'll be fooled into thinking it's not potent.

She will fill out pal I had a real late girl packing weight on and I run her to 12 weeks and she fattened up with monster colas.. also if she's more sativa rather than indica genes sometimes you end up with lots of thinner ones but just take a chill pill and give her time as I have been in the worried position same as every grower
