Hi so I have a 3x3x6 tent with a 1000 watt dimmable hps or mh,and ima start growing in two months, but I want sum really good bulbs?so confused on lumens Kelvin?I'm just lost if ur reading maybe you can help?

I believe 600W hps is enough for 1 square meter, a 1kW bulb would heat the place a lot more.

Hi, Marvin :)
What are your dimming points? 400/600/1000, or 500/750/1000..
I use a 1K HPS (GA6 is right about the bulb choice) that I keep at 750 watts, for a 4x4 area of my flower tent. I've tried running at 1000 watts, but it just isn't worth the heat issues, for me.
In Summer, I use LED panels in place of the HPS, for heat reasons.
In your case, I wouldn't worry too much about PAR/Lumens, etc, as you will have adequate light with the dimmable 1K setup.
As for Kelvin/light temp, here's my 2 pennies...
Some growers run autos under Metal Halide (MH) bulbs throughout their grow. Its more of a blue light, and best for vegetative growth, according to the science behind it.
I use MH for veg only, and switch to High Pressure Sodium (HPS) bulbs for flowering. A red spectrum light, that the scientists say promotes flowering and "fruiting"... Mmmmm Buds....
My flowering tent (4x8) has 600 (real watts, 900 spec) LED on one side, and the HPS on the other. My veg tent has a 1K MH, running at 750watts.
The Eye Hortilux is a great bulb. I have one in the flower tent right now, and it is head and heels above the cheaper Sylvania bulbs I've used. You'll not go wrong by purchasing one :)
Best to you, and I hope you'll put up a journal when you have things sorted :)

Hey Marvin,
Waxi is definitely right. I have a 3'9x3'9x6'6 tent with an air cooled 1000 watt dimmable. @ 750 the temp stays around 78° if I turn it up to 1000 it goes up over 90°

First off welcome to our forum.Need to no what kind of lights your talking about.

Sorry for the double post. I have mine topped out and I adjust my plant height with tables. My hood is too big for my tent so I'm just making due with what I got.

how high up do ya'all hang your lights?
24-30" early veg- on the high side, if I'm looking to stretch the plants.
12-20" late veg, closer as they grow.
6-10" all of flower. I will keep LEDs a bit higher up, for light distribution, on my drip table, as it gets pretty Jungle in there...
