Grow Mediums I want to try hydro, you want to do hydro with me?

Im sure they sent the wrong T-connection.. but i have solved it now. No leakage... the pump works but its not tight inside the circulation-pipe. There is some suction-foots under the pump wich make it stay in position. But its not anything you need any bigger power to loose.
There is a different T-conection if you have the 20 or 30 liter system, looks like a mix up, but its okey for now. Will see if the pump stays in postion.

Some photos... you see i put two clamps in the T-joint... it dosnt disturb me as long as its tight.

What starting EC is good? 0.6 or 0.8... if doing rez change every 10 day 0.6 could be good and up to 0.8 at day 10 with roots in rez, then up to 1.0 - 1.2 at day 20... ?

Will use my camera from now on, was just lazy with the pad in my hand.

i would recommend to not take EC values since there are different conversion factors for USA - EU - Australia. ( USA 500ppm = 1.0 EC | EU 700ppm = 1.0 EC | Australia 640ppm = 1.0 EC )
Better take ppm values. ( or know where your EC meter was fabricated hehe )

It reads both ppm and EC, i think you can choose the factor be yourself but it comes with the 0.5 factor.
Can talk ppm, its better with a multinational language.
Thank you for pointing that out.

I have a backround water of 76 ppm.
The brand om going with are suggesting 300 ppms of nutes, they have a backround of 200ppm wich will be 500 ppm in total.
And for me 376 ppm... does it sound good? I think i will go for it.

I always start a 50% of the recommendation by the nutrient manufacture. Then I slowly raise it a little each week until I see a tiny bit of tip burn and back off from there. Here is a handy ec/ppm chart with all of the different scale equivalents.

They also recomend a ph of 5.2 for the first 3 weeks. Is that normal?
Ill start the EC at 50% and see how they react the first days/week.. i listen to your advice. Your garden tells me you know what you are doing.

Baffle? Did a google on that, and i will say no, no baffle. If i get big girls the roots will take a de-tour im sure :)

Its 4 of these in each bucket...

They sticking out 1 inch or so.....

I have never used that brand of nutrient but I ALWAYS recommend to follow their instructions. So PH 5.2 to start. The reason to start @ 50% strength is because DWC by its nature makes the nutrients more available to the plant and my past experience tells me that less is better than too much. Don't forget to use HydroGuard from day one. How many litres is the whole system?
