New Grower idea?

I normally i start seeds in a airing cupboard under a 250w cfl while my tent with 600w hps is busy just to cut out the time ive gotta wait lol. Now next grow is an experiment and i wanna hear opinions...im wondering if i give the plant 3/4weeks 250w cfl will my yield take closer to the 250cfl or 600hps? Im gonna go for 9plants and will pot up into finals around 10days

Go with the 600 hps after seedlings are up and going well.

I want to try see if ill take the yield of a cfl or more of a hps if i used the cfl for 3/4weeks. Reason is i have 2areas so it will mean i can start seeds 3weeks or so before my tent comes to an end then wait less to chop..just abit of an experiment really

I switch my mh bulbs to hps at around day 21.

You're going to find your yield diminished greatly...I'd go with namvet's advice. I do, however, respect the curiosity and willingness to experiment. :clap::thumbs:

Do you think you can effectively cover all 9 plants with the 250CFL? CFL's as you know are great for vedge. Tight node spacing's and such. But the problem with CFL's is that they have a sweet spot. And that would be within 8-12 inches with a 250 watter. My old 300 watter could be as far as 10-18 inches. I seen a video using a 13 watt cfl on youtube for the first 6 weeks and they looked great. But they were 1 inch away from the plant with each plant having its own small reflector. But as you said, you have the equipment on hand and you are wanting to up production. So why not try?

250W CFL for 9 plants will Deminish yeild shed loads Dont forget autos have a short life span so you wana give them the best start possible.. I have grown with CFLs and yeild, Node spacing is all down to how you rotate the plants but with 9 plants its going to be hard to spread the light that far, Most i had was 3 under 300W and yeild was (in total) 4 OZ :smokebuds:

I may just go for 6plants then and see how we get on. I dont expect a great yield really its just waiting less time to try another smoke lol dont wana jinx it but rewarding strain that is think different im thinking is.gonna give me.enough smoke where small results from this experiment wont be as upsetting
