Ideal Ph for soil vs. Hydro

What is the ideal Ph for soil ? Just looking for some opinions on this and also think this could be very helpful to newbies such as my self ... I know between 5.5 and 6.5 but would just like to know what everyone thinks does best... thanks!

Thanks Everyone for the quick responses I have been watering at 6.3 and running off at 5.9 idk ... I also have my grow on a thread 2 Critical Jacks and 3 StarRyders please come check it out as well. I would love to have any help, compliments, criticism ... you know its all good

You need to raise your watering PH up to about 6.8 and see if your runoff comes up. You want your soil ph up at 6.5, not ranging from 6.5 to 5.5. Try not to let it drop below 6.3 or so in organic soil.

Thanks Piggy ! I am 12 days in and was gonna water and start my nutes tommorow or the next day ...whenever they are dry basically I will feed them ... will it be ok for me to add the nutrients while trying to raise the ph? I would assume it would help raise it a bit but again I don't know. Also I am still treating my plants for fungus gnats as I have only watered once with the dunks and the gnats obviously aren't gone yet , I think it is fine to use the dunks with the nutes but just looking for some reassurance on these issues . Thanks Again ! also put pics up from day 10 on my thread if that helps... plants all look good in my opinion except for one of the cjs that looks a lil sick but hasn't looked as healthy as the others from the start... actually nvmnd here are a few pics now and please come check my thread too if you get the time. The first 2 or 3 pics you will see is the sickly looking one kinda wavy leaves...
