My impressions on the Kashit Cool: This is a really cool (pun intended) little piece. Fits my
triple perc glass perfectly and cools the smoke as well or better than putting some ice cubes in it. It's not all perfect, though. It seems to have a habit after a few hits of sometimes getting a little frozen chunk of what looks to be resin in the tube through it. Seems to happen mostly with my triple perc piece. Maybe something to do with the large amount of diffusion the smoke goes through really humidifying it to the point it freezes to the sides and builds up as passing through. I tried it out in one of the Eyce mold bongs, that is more of just a simple down stem bubbler. Doesn't have the problem at all on that one. But, the smoke is also a lot cooler coming out of that one (being made of ice and all), so not sure if it's a smoke temp, humidity, or other that makes the difference. Anyhow, if you're using a scientific glass pipe, it might do it to you more so than a simple bubbler, or at least that's my theory. I don't have another piece around that it will fit to test further. The good news is that a quick rinse in the sink with some cool to warm water and it thaws the blockage and clears it. Also a big plus, there is no maximum time in the freezer in the instructions. So I've got it just tossed in the freezer for next time and don't have to plan ahead 15 min like a lot of the chillum freezer pipes I've looked at that don't recommend letting them get deep, all the way frozen. The inside tube and mouthpiece are glass, with a rubbery (think soft skateboard wheel type material) outside so it makes a good seal on a pipe.
Speaking of impressions, I did also pick up one of the Eyce molds from the original post in this thread. It's a really fun piece. With the sleeve, can make it through a bowl before it starts to melt enough to get air leaks, and then toss back in the freezer for next time. So far, I'm up to using the same one three nights in a row before having to mold up a new one. Going to see just how many nights I can get out of one. The big downside to the Eyce mold bong is that with the positioning of the down stem, it puts the bowl like scary right next to your face which makes lighting it not as fun as it could be. The only way I can see to fix this would be to make the pipe an inch or two taller, but then you would start getting into problems with it fitting into your average freezer shelf.
Combining the two: This is a TOTALLY AWESOME COMBINATION!!!! Cools the smoke wonderfully, the Kashit piece doesn't gum up, moves the bowl a little further from the face to make it easier to light, and as an extra bonus the Eyce mold pipe is a little prone to splashing the lips from time to time with the bubbling action and the Kashit blocks it.
Overall, I would reccomend them to someone thinking of trying them out. Though I'd look long and hard for a head shop that has the Kashit line before going to their company site (unless they start clearing up their order fulfillment and customer service issues).
