Who doesn't hate bugs i know i do i rear-ended a lady at a stop sign once because of a bug.:cuss:. But since then i have learned to appreciate them .i will not kill a spider but i will hunt a fly down 555.jpeg i hate fly's and why does it seem like when you kill one two more pop up.

This thread is for Indoor bug prevention what we can do before we start our grow. let me start by saying that i'm the type of person that tries to be preemptive about things you know (if don't plan to seceded then you plan to fail) . so with that said i start my research here at AFN and then Google i came across a lot of products and a lot of tips , but that was a LOT of reading and being a newbie grower that can be a little daunting, so i decided to see if WE can bring these ideas and products together in one place.I'll post a few that i have read about. But i would like this to be a thread that you guys post your preventative tips on and i will EDIT your ideas to this post so that if you need a quick tip at a glace you don't have to read the whole thread to see what a member does to prevent bugs( did that make since) i hope so :face:ok then lets GO!

Quick tip/ticks for bug prevention

Sprinkle a little diatomaceous earth on the floor of the tent. It's soft fluffy white safe, powder to humans, but it cuts bugs up like razors and dehydrates them to crispiness.

Make sure there is no standing water exposed... anywhere. Consider pouring bleach down any nearby drains when you are treating/spraying for bugs. Fungus gnats, for example, can breed in a thimble-full of water. Don't
over-water plants or leave standing water in your plants or run-off trays. Again, mosquito dunks in any water reservoirs

Put a "mosquito dunk" in your water reservoirs. These are non-toxic and safe for birds, fish, plants, people, pets, etc. However, it kills fungus gnat larvae, and will eventually wipe them out. Fungus gnats are probably the most common pest most growers face.

Hot Shot "No Pests" strip in the grow room. It releases a odorless vapor that bugs hate. It's supposed to be safe for humans as long as you aren't in the room for more than 3 hours a day. I've heard that it's especially good at keeping spider mites away.

Spray the perimeter of the grow room periodically with "Home Defense Max.

Clean all areas of grow space before after and during, this should go with out saying !

I have never done any of these things, but they where plagiarism by me from sites around the net. fighting0056.gif

So please post your tips/tricks and i will edit them in..and if you have had a bad experience with a product please post it too

Alas, t'would seem there are great minds at work here this evening.

I feel maybe our newest threads could somehow be used together to rid the world of these beastly little fiends.

Gonna post a link to this thread in mine, and thought I'd leave a fresh one lingering here
