You will most likely want a fan speed controller too.
I don't know how far you need to vent etc.., but you could just buy a 6 inch fan at Walmart for $12 and wrap a piece of cardboard around it to make a tube and use that to vent. They move a decent amount of air. I think the main reason we need vortex fans is because they don't lose power as we add resistance to them (Carbon filter).
This is how I run my intake. Very simple, stays in place due to the cardboard and costs very little.
