Like the idea of thinking outside the box are we forgetting why leds are so damn good? Because unlike hids its spectrum is aimed at not wasting light, lumen per watt the big hps's are pretty damn good so i can't see this being anything more the marketting aimed at the hid lovers. Would still be interested to see tis work though

Here is a grow log for a guy using 4 cobs on a home made system: COB Grow I think he's just vegging with them and then firing up his awesome AT600
p.s. the pics are halfway down the page on the link and there are endless technical details about cobs etc.
Man you sent me down the rabbit hole. I've spent the last two days reading about DIY COB lights and I'm drooling! Dreaming of some home brew side lighting.
I'll see you in Wonderland, I've been sat on alibaba forever it seems locating all the components!
