Introduction! And a very necessary question!

Heh, i've already made a few posts around but I figured I'd drop my introduction here since it seems like I'll be sticking around!
I've smoked for.. probably 4 years out of my life total, not a lot, but I can definitely say:(Made an excuse to use that sticker, because that shits funny.)
The prices where I live are insane... 120 for a quarter. -.- It's literally half that where I moved from, and in the last year and a half I've spent well over 1500 just buying it from people, and trust me when I say that 85% of the stuff out here is complete bunk. I only found 2 trusty people. One is 3 hours away, and the other gives me annoyingly seedy weed. I spend like 15 minutes just to pack one of my smaller bowls cause I have to pick seeds out, and those fuckers like to hide.
SO! to save me money, and save me from wasting said money and time, I decided to start growing!
I've got most of my stuff here, my seeds just shipped out like 10 minutes ago (literally just got the email), just need my exhaust and lights and I'll be ready to get started on my first grow!

I do have a couple questions to pop in here.
One; I'm going to be going on vacation in the end of october. We'll be getting on a plane on the 27th, and taking a plane back on the 29th (us domestic so only a few hours on the plane), so we'd only have 1 day that we'd be completely gone. If i start my grow in a couple weeks from now, would they be okay with me being gone for that time frame or is it too much of a risk for something to happen to them that late in growing? I'd hope not but I thought it best to ask before I start growing.
Edit: Thought this might be an important bit of information to it; I'm going to be using 50% coco and 50% perlite. Trying to decide between continuing with my 7 gallon smartpots with hand watering or if I should get 2-3 gallon airpots and do a drip system.. But being me, I need a "coco drip for dummies" Thoughts?


And for my "necessary" question; I saw "live chat" and thought we actually have a live chat, but i was deceived!! Where's the live chat?? I think that'd be a lot of fun here!

hey buddy welcome to afn! the land of blurple haze and talking penguins. ( if he gives you any hassle just flap your arms and make seal noises. hel swim for it).
ive seen a few guys doing some scary things with drip fed coco set ups but. there is a coco growers section on the list aswell mate. id say thatd be a good place for you to have a wee nose about. if you need anything feel free to tag me. if i dont know ill be able to point you in the right direction : ) happy growing amigo

The question of 7 gal versus two 3 gal pots has a few variables. Mainly, how much space you have to work with and genetics.. 3 gals of coco and a drip system can grow baby trees with the right genetics. There are a few journals here that have 1 or 2 plant in coco out growing the tents and touching the lights! Either option 7 or 3 should give you an excellent jump on an awesome harvest! You should check out the coco growers section as well. A ton of good info there as well!
