Old Reviews IoLite Portable vaporiser

Do you find it smoother than the smoke form a spliff , as ive never tryed these but fancy trying one out of curiosity DK :peace:

Also Dex, I thought to add, it depends a lot of what you put in there. Since its vaporising things, what left when you empty is crisped. If its dry stuff you put it will definitely smoke different to heavier vapour from wetter greens. You'll work out what you prefer best, my brother also has the iolite for about the same time as me, and he has his own preferences.

The Iolite is awesome I take it camping its a great piece of kit.

Hi Wynnyin , Another Iolite'r nice to meet you :)
Yes, its great for its portability for sure. I started vaping with this thing, now I want something bigger to station at home, and the iolite for when im out. Nice piece of kit for sure, feels of good quality for a start, better than some other things that were on the market at that time. Plus it was nice to be sure its up to the grade and Ill not be vaping toxic plastic fumes or something!
If I remember, this company had some history with innovative compressed gas driven things, been around a while. I guesse they must have a smoker in the midst so they turned their hand to the iolite, using some good technology and researching and employing the proper materials research etc. I might be making it up but I think they have worked with DuPont, 3M etc so, there with the science.
More expensive than some other things for sure, but worth the money.

Also Dex: be careful to get from a reputable dealer, I don't know if its still a problem thesedays but there were some Chinese knock offs going around a while back.

Sounds like a great Vape ... I use the NO2 currently and it works well for what I use it for but it's not nearly as portable as the Iolite ... The NO2 becomes very hard to open or close after 50+ uses which makes it nearly impossible for my wife to use alone ... how is the Iolite for opening once it's been used some ... I like the idea of being able to charge it w/ a minimal amount of herb rather than filling it up ... the NO2 holds a little over 1/8 tsp and provides 10-12 good hits from that quantity. I was considering getting a Pax until I saw that they recommend packing the chamber full each time and it looked like it holds at least a full tsp ...

The NO2 needs to warm up about 5 min to work properly ... How long does the iolite take to be hot enough to Vape ?

I've smoked weed about 40 years and been Vaping about six months ... I still burn now and then but Vaping has become 95% of my use ... I actually prefer it to smoking and the lack of smell has my wife vaping daily too ... A good Vape goes real well w/ homegrown sticky buds ...

The e-cigs are a revolution that I think is going to put a real dent in cancer rates and tax revenues ...

to be honest the IOLite does get clogged a little also, and opening and closing the top chamber can get harder. I guesse it might have been better but since I had this really nice apple shisha stuff I do use it in there quite often. Its like really sticky you prbly know so things get coated a bit. Thinking about it Ive had the thing 2 yrs, Im not anywhere near 95% on it but admire you for getting there.
It will be a hell of a lot more than 50 uses anyway before it gets bit more effort to open and close. Good news is the top bit that holds the mouthpiece and caps the chamber, is avail extra. my brother managed to drop and crack his, got a new one. So worst case you will have to change it eventually, I imagine any vape put through the same affair would be getting equally cloggy to be honest.
Its good for doing with minimal herb, when I was originally researching I found folks put very little for best effect, and its quite efficient to use. Packing the chamber would not be so good to get an even vape out of all the material. The pronged insert thing which you can optionally drop into the chamber before adding your stuff, heats up and distributes heat better through your mix, so good when you want to load it for a journey.
Otherwise, you don't need to use any more than what you want to consume in the short term.

With you on e-cigs. I reckon if I can get once laced it will last days and be shockingly convenient to use, refill, etc etc.

I get a lot of very pure THC oil that accumulates in the 6 inch whip on the Vapir No2 ... I believe the Gpen is the way to use the oil but I'm not certain ... I know I waste 2-3 drops of oil a week when I clean my Vape ... The PAX has a mouthpiece lube available that I suspect is either KY jelly or very pure Vegetable oil ... you've got me sold on the iolite and I see Ebay has some in the $105 - $115 dollar range ...

How long does it take to heat up ?

Just rehydrated a couple weeks worth of ABV and rolled about a dozen joints out of it ... passed them out at a party last night and people were enjoying the high and how mild it was ... nobody suspected it was the second time around for the weed ... I don't mind an ABV joint cause it has the smell/mild taste, but little effect for me ... I don't care for ABV out of a pipe ... too bleh ...

Only a minute or so. I guesse the iolite does end up coated inside a bit, you have to take some pipecleaner to it and try your best. eventually it will become more and more sticky. they do sell the mouthpiece, chamber top, "cooler" etc separately, I've switched those parts for fresh ones once already. I never thought of doing something with the gunge, that's very interesting :)

Have two Iolite Vaporizers. Will not "smoke" anymore. Needs to be vented every now then to clean out the old gas. Gotta use good quality butane. Never leave home with out it.
