First time grower. Is a microscope 100X magnification acceptable for trich analysis for determining harvest time?

I use a Radioshack 60x-100x.
It works fine.
If you are young and have good vision a 30x jewelers loop will work for you.

scopes

Ive found a 60-100 scope is tougher for me to use and focus.a 30X-40X and a 60X led lit scopes are the best imo.my 40X and 60X are my favorite.the top three are my favs for outdoors.the others all have LED's on em.Happy growing buddy.

Quite the collection Eof!

There can be a bit of a learning curve getting comfortable using the 60x-100x. One reason is that the field of scope is usually quite a bit larger on the loupes and nothing to adjust ;) that wider scope can make it much easier to look over a whole plant. but i like the 60x-100x for when I reallly want to look close at the trich structure, resin and such. I have tremor, so the ability to set the scope down and look through it helps me alot.

I agree a ,100X is awesome but the standard ones are harder to adjust and the cheaper ones you have to darn near push it right onto yer buds.LOL!I had two of those and found these much more user friendy or me.I know a lot of ppl looove those 100X's but maan dunno why I just dont like em.Esp for outdoor growing.Ive found with a 60X(one with the black pouch) does quite a decent job and is easy to focus since it does have a bit of a distance adjustment.I wanna try one of those longer fold out ones that's a bit longer with a LED.

Funny enough I have just been putting this info in the Private Lounge..
What Setting did you use to get the shot:

The scope has 4x 10x and 40 x lenses plus digital zoom but in all Honesty I very Rarely use the 40 x

Example of 4 x lense

Example of 10 x lense

Hope it Helps...:tiphat:..I'm guessing you are just Looking to see if the trics are Ripe or not....

I've come to like this 16.5x clip-on loupe from Harbor Freight. I know 16.5x doesn't sound like a lot. But... clip these onto a pair of 2.50 reading glasses, and you've got 41x. Clip them onto a pair of 3.00 reading glasses and it's 50x. If you already wear glasses, buy this clip-on 3x magnifier and put the 16.5x in front.

I like the "hand's free" feeling. And, they have a wider field of view than the 40x 25mm loupe I bought. And especially the flexibility. One lens is 3.3x, one is 5x. Combine them and it's 16.5x. Use either (or both) with reading glasses and/or the 3x clip on, and you can find exactly the magnification you'd like.

I have a cheap Carson 60-100x microscope. I find it difficult to control even at 60x. My hands aren't that steady. Using the clip-on stuff above, I can use both hands to hold the bud, and my head controls the in-out focus, panning, etc. For the money ($11 US for the two items at Harbor Freight, $8 for a cheap pair of reading glasses at Walmart), it's a good option.

What is the magnification on the eyepiece (if it's a mechanical standard microscope)? 10x? If so you are really on 40x 100x and 400x not 4x, 10x and 40x.
