Do any of you use side lighting or under canopy lighting for indoor grows? If so what do you do? I was looking at the cidly aquabar lights designed for aquariums and was thinking they would probably work well for corner/side lighting in a tent. They use 3w LEDs and you can pick any combo of whites or colored leds, whatever you prefer. They are passively cooled and cost is about $40 for the 3ft ones without shipping and 3 year warranty. 3ft light says it uses about 40w of electricity. They come with 120deg lenses.

Would these work well and is side lighting worth bothering with?

I use 4ft t5s mounted to the corner posts of my tents. They help keep the heat up in winter and I can turn one or more off in summer and they put out more light than a cfl or two. I have three different bulbs I use, 10000k, 6500k and 3000k but the cost per fixture is twice the led strip.

Yes side lighting is worth it... hands down. I use a t5 hood but suppliment side lighting with cfl make some sort of jig to get the right up close to the plant... ypu should read m latest joirnal there is step by step lst and sidelighting there ..... you will see bigger yields that way
