OK. a little update on the broken Mars. The fault made no sense to me. It acted like a knackered driver or drivers but swopping the drivers made no difference. I spoke to Mars about this and they pointed out that some of the diodes are weird in series. So, one blows and you loose the juice to the whole row, like fecking Christmas lights!

After a minor misunderstanding, (they asked me to send it to California for repair! Maybe I typed with an American accent?) I'm again happy with the service.

Christmas lights don't even do that anymore bud..! Design fault AHOY!

It's something to do with the forward voltage of the diodes. Some are in parallel and others in series depending on how hard they drive them.

Why the fuck am I trying to explain this to a sparks?

Anyway, I looked at the tiny little diodes in my banana hands and thought I'd let them fix it. There's 3 or 4 other diodes that have blown, so they can do the lot. The only shit about that is I have to pay postage to Manchester.

Arr.. poor man's spark! [emoji23]

You'd think they'd all be parallel tho to stop that happening. Probably a reason for it tho bud.. [emoji848]

Yes there is. Is something to do with the forwarding voltage and how hard the diodes are being driven.....
