Grow Mediums JR's Poco Loco in the Coco.....

Hey love the setup man cant wait to try my luck with coco next grow man!! this looks awsome al poco loco

Love this setup dude, can't wait for it to get started! :kusht:

Thanks brother, me too :)

Honestly this is the first time inhale read your log start to finish JAYAR, it's completely different to mine or anything I have ever tried. I like it though, you seem to have everything under control. We are going to give soil a bash after this coco run, then possibly try DWC or something like this next year, just so we have a feel for all the mediums and experience them all like. ;)

Can't wait to see this ball get rolling, nice to drop in after how much input you have given me :) keep up the good work!

Pkay safe,
StonedBRO

Glad to have you along for the ride BRO. Dude I hope you decide to try coco again!! But ditch the monster 30l pots for a 4l it's supposed to grow beasts this way. We'll see tho. The last couple of grows I used 15l airpots.. kinda scary going down in size so much, hope I don't screw it up!!

I did the same thing bro, tried growing organic, but hated handling so many types of shits right next to where I sleep lol and it stunk up my whole bedroom so ditched that.. tried peat moss soilless, worked good but hated having to get new soil every 2-3 months. Tried coco so I can reuse it easily, but it demands a shit ton of water, having to handwater every single day was a pain in the.. now I'm on this recirculating drip... better yields and less work.. hope it works out!!

I was talking about leca/hydroton as medium, in top fed recirc..systems :smoke:.....
In your setup i would keep the airpump on 24/7.
I have no clue about coco, but know the basic (stikies) Thats why im hear to learn.
But do know that its the watering (amount / cycles a day, that will make a plant explode in grow).. (stikies),
Im going to try coco out in the new year. But need info first, (winter night time reading).
Stay green

Thanks for clearing that up. Good or bad you'll get some good winter night time reading from here hopefully :)

I'm definitely gonna have to try my hand at coco when the time is right. If done right, it sounds like it can be pretty hands off

Yeah that's what's so appealing to me bro. Just adjust the ph once or twice a day, and refill the res once a week.. wham bam thank you mam!! I'm nervous about maneuvering the plants through the SCROG tho!! Gonna have a close eye on yours and Dread's threads to see how yall boys do it. :Sharing One:

Great setup, JR! I've always been curious about drip systems, but never grew in one. Can't wait for the girls to be in the pots, Bro!

Thanks Wax, me too :) girls are snuggled up in their paper towels now, hopefully by tomorrow they'll be ready to go.

What up kosher!! Cool your plants will love the stuff it's so fluffy and you have lots of options.. You can water every 2-3 days like regular soil, every day, or you can water 5x a day once the root zone is established. That's one thing I love about coco.. you can treat her however you want.

Thanks i managed to find a coco perlite solution in my area this or dutch coco coir you know this?

Nah man never heard of them, I use loose bag canna coco. Is it the compressed brick type or in a loose bag?? Reason I ask is because you have to thoroughly wash the compressed brick type and then charge with cal mag before you use it. The loose bag coco is usually pre-washed and treated for you so you can grow straight away. Both types work good from what i read on here.

Hey thanks yes it says dutch coco compressed opens to 45Lcube.i think ill go with the mix+hydtroton updown

Nice, I was actually going to add hydroton to mine but completely forgot to buy it!! lol

haha i been reading that using hydroton in the bottom of the tool where the roots hangout will help them get more air and also moisture soaked in the hydroton chips when the plant feels he wants to drink but its not feeding time he can enjoy himself soaking some moist:P

Hey Jayar. Looks like you're getting things dialled in nice and early. Well done mate. Do you have any filter for the runoff before it goes back in the res?

Thanks bro. The pots material are like a filter, and then three layers of the aluminum screen, then the filter on the pump. Some bits went through tho, but it was mostly spillage from moving the pots around.
