Grow Mediums JR's Poco Loco in the Coco.....

She's looking great jayar. If you prune just keep it to the minimum.

Jay I've been defoliating for years. I've never seen plucking a leaf stress a plant.

That's cuz you grow such crazy beasts that are always thriving and have a will to grow and grow and grow. As long as you have those circumstances, I agree 100%.
But if you got a plant that seems a little shaky... Maybe just remove the popcorn buds and the lowest foliage, or depending on what kind of structure the plant has, maybe even the smallest branches. But not the "big fan leaves", as J mentioned.

Nood's loving $0.02 worth, just to have at least one Nay vote. LOL

Interesting.. u give me courage bro! i know fortune favors the bold... but relly have to think about it.. so one yay vote.

I don't know about defoliating. The thought of it makes me nervous simply because of potential stunting...

I feel exactly the same, and the fact that gman's cc hermied on him.. gonna have to ponder on this one! Ill put u down for a nay.

Thanks bro, its only about 3 fan leaves that are just massive and even if i tuck them they pop right back up lol. so yay vote.

I feel u brother, since i was raised here on afn, i was taught that defoliation is no bueno.. but i have seen all kinds of HST be successful.. ill put u for a yay vote.

Hiya Noods, thanks for the input! So far ive counted 3 Yays to 2 Nays, but have yet to vote myself.. its a toughie. What i remember reading is that fan leaves are like water/nutrient storage reserves, but since im feeding multiple times per day they really have no need for them.

Right now the Cheese Candy is a chaotic bush, shes branching out like crazy! Gonna inspect her carefully and weigh my options and ill be back with the verdict!
"AFN smoke out"

I'm in. Just trimmed my shrubs that never stretched. Not sur what happened. I'm aving the dilemma as well. Though I'll take out a branch or 5 I always try to leave my fan leaves. Unless the are just an asshole. I'll even try twisty tieing it to the trunk just to keep it. Lol

Well since you are growing photos jay, even if the plant did stress for say a day or so, not really much of a set back for a photo. Since you are weighing your options, would it be better in the long run to pluck the few leafs, and have bigger branches and buds at the end, which is ultimately the reason we grow.

Now with autos, I try not to pluck as much. I admit there were some weaker autos I've grown that I plucked and really hurt the yield. Where the going to grow much anyways? Probably not. But I guess thats a risk you have to be willing to take. And then there was autos like the BHD in my avatar that didnt mind. So with that being said I think all of our opinions have really proved that each grower and plants experience is going to be totally different than each other, and that we must all be the grower WE are, and not each other. However, it is each of us that helps to mold ourselves, no? Lol just smoked a couple bowls, feelin' real creative.

Whats the verdict judge jay?

Me too just snipped a few of the biggest fan leaves and now we're working with some good light penetration! See i didnt take any branches tho because i like to smoke the popcorn buds while the rest cure up lol

I have sided with the Yays, the three most powerfuk leaves have been chopped at the head! Now we have plenty of light reaching the insides. We'll see how she takes it!
Btw bro, this is a Cheese Candy Auto, not photo. I was gonna start a skywalker kush and c99 photo but decided to go for this one so i could join the bamslam contest. The photos are next in a couple of months!

As a long time photo grower I have to say ... snip away ;)

You can take your time in the veg. well not to much but up to 4-5 months if you want and if you like ending up with a lot of pop corn bud then I recommend checking out "Thai sticks" ... never made one myself but got to try one last summer and it was really nice ! yeah I know it is going to be ready way later then the actual bud but how cool is a 100% cannabis joint made with cannabis leaves and glued together with cannabis oil

Some weed nerd in the village where my school was spends more then a month making and curing them, he actually uses hash oil to get everything to stick together but there are some ways so you dont need to use oil ;)

How tasty does that look ?

Dayum that does look tasty as tasty gets. Think I'm gonna be reading up on that, thanks for that info.
