Hi everyone!
I have a few questions for some kind of weed guru out there :) I have just got some plant magic plus supreme soil and some heavyweight fast and vast seeds. I am planning on putting the seeds in the soil and then covering them with cling film.

1. Should I water the soil before I put the seed in or the seed in first then water? Also how much water? Half a pint glass?

2. I have a viper 600w led light with 5 amp bulbs... how far should it be away at this stage? 75cm away from the top of the soil?

3. How long do I leave the cling film on for? Till I see the first 2 leaves or?

4. I was thinking about putting 4 in a 4x4 tent in 11L square pots but I have 5 seeds... should I just put all 5 in or will this be pushing it?

5. what's the best way to get the right ph level for the water? The last time I tried using the pH up/down stuff but I think I might of used too much and it killed my last girls :(

6. 20/4 or 24/0 :D

7. When should I start feeding them seeing there is stuff in the soil?

Any help would be greatly appreciated I really don't want to fail this time and want to make sure I get things right this time and I have read lots of guides but a lot of them conflict with each other and have just made me confused to be honest lol

Cheers!

1.Water before you put your seed in with a cup or two of PH'd water.
2.With 600 watts around one meter or three feet at first.
3.Remove the film right away when she breaks soil.
4.Five will work just fine.
5.Gen Hydro up or down works best.Just use enough to get your ph at 6.4 or 6.5
6.20/4 or18/6
7. What stuff is in your soil?

Yes. Keep it wet. a 1/2 cup a water a day should do it with the film

You don't really need light until you see green. If you have the means to keep it warm, just do that until you sprout.

3. How long do I leave the cling film on for? Till I see the first 2 leaves or?

ONce it pops above soil, you can remove the film.

4. I was thinking about putting 4 in a 4x4 tent in 11L square pots but I have 5 seeds... should I just put all 5 in or will this be pushing it?

YOu can do for our five in that space no problem. I had nine in a 3x3 in one gallon pots, but the more room you give them, the more space they have to fill up.

The best way is to start with good PH'd water, find a good source and stick with it. RO water from the drugstore?

UPDATE:-----
Sorry ab out that, the below infor was for Cal/mag def.

With LED's, you should add calcium and Magnesium supplements to your soil. But you can do the cal mag too. Probably a good mix of both if you start to see signs of def. later in your grow.

6. 20/4 or 24/0 :D It's really up to you and your plants.

7. When should I start feeding them seeing there is stuff in the soil

I am not sure what your soil is made up of. So we can't really say. But if you look at Muddy's flowering cycle of Auto's

Muddy Autoflowerng cycle.

You can see where and when to feed.

I hope that helps. I am not an expert, but I can get ya goin. Maybe other's can come in and help.

Let us have a full rundown on your soil if you don't mind.

Hi! Thanks for your replies they have been very helpful :) oh and the Soil is Plant Magic plus Supreme Soil... On the site it says:

Soil Supreme is a unique blend of sphagnum peat, Fytocell foam and our very own OrganicGrowth Stimulant.

So i was wondering if that means i have to leave it for longer before i feed them or anything lol

Cheers!:peace:

HELP! Im trying to get the ph levels for the water right but it seems impossible... Im just using a 2 ltr plastic bottle filled with tap water that has a ph of 7.2 but when i add a tiny drop of ph down it shoots down to 1.5 ? The i tried adding some ph up to get the right level and again put a tiny drop in and it shoots up to 11.5?

How do you get the right ph level ?

Cheers! :)

Your water doesn't have enough minerals in it for the buffer to stabilize....

If you find that you've gone up and down all over the place a couple times...start over.

If you have Cal Mag supplement, put that in first. Then buffer.

How are you testing pH? Is it calibrated?

Also, have you let the water sit for 24 hours before doing this?

Like Trapper said, you should probably be using Cal Mag. Get some and check ph after adding, the ph will drop. Use a 2ml syringe and start with about .5ml of cal mag in a 2liter bottle. I calibrate mine with my ppm metter. 100-125 pmms but .25-.5ml is just about right. Also, you should let that water sit in an open contain for 12-24 hours to get the chlorine out.

I don't have a cal/mag supplement at the moment because i thought you didn't need it till about 3 weeks in? and no i didn't let the water sit for 24 hours so i guess i'll do that now and see whats its like tomorrow. Im using a yellow ph pen off ebay and yes i did put it in 1 small glass of luke warm water with one ph buffer powder and then turned the screw at the back and matched it to the ph of the powder and then took it out and put it in another small glass of water and it matched the ph on the pack.

This is the very first water btw... as in im watering the soil before i put the seeds in lol

Cheers! :)

You may want to look into what's in your tap water...treated water almost always contains Cholrine (that will be released if left in an open container for 24 hours)
but it ALSO sometimes contains additives that DON'T distill out. If you are in a heavily urban area, you'll need to identify this and take steps to work around it
or you're going to have a very frustrating and unproductive time of it. It's the best time to identify it since you haven't started going down any particular road yet. :)

If I were you, I would also recalibrate the pH pen with whatever water you end up using...

Just my 2 cents.
