I've got about 10 to 14 days or so left.
I usually just give them pure water at this point then lights off for the last 3 days.

Just curious how you all end a soil grow.

I’m by no means an expert, just finished my second grow in soil. First time I used plain water while the lights were on for three days, then lights off and no water for 3 days. This time round I fed up until the end. Lights off for 3 days with no water. Then cut and hung. I used Biobizz organic nutes, so in theory no flush is necessary. I’ll find out in a week or so if there’s any odd flavours coming through!

Nothing but water the last 10 days, then chop. No need to leave in the dark, starve for water, or other voodoo type methods. Organic grown, just chop her when she's ready.

Dabs. Is the end of my grow :crying:.

Seriously, I have tried it all Long Flush, Short Flush, No Flush, extra dark; They all seemed about the same as far as quality of the bud is concerned. The thing that improved my quality the most is the addition of UVA light the last 4 weeks of flower and UVB The last 3 weeks. I do a minimal 2 or 3 day flush in my Hydro set up but I think it is more just a habit than needed.

Cool.

My CMH/LEC light adds those rays already.

I prefer to do this for best results. you are going to want to give water the last 2-3 times over the last week or so even 7-10 days depending on fade and ripeness. but once the last water is given you watch the leaves and feel the pots as it drys out and starts showing in the leaves for dryness of the pot.once the pots been on water a week and the pots dry(ish) and the leaves are dropping.I dark her for maybe 8 -12 hours so it can gain its strength ,as plants do.Hence the term morning harvest.then chop and enjoy.I do organic only.but much of this applies in my dealings with harvest and peak smokeability n what have ya.the wetter the pot the harder your smoke will hit.meaning not going to be as smooth. dry it out proper prior..? it'll be silky smooth.

and a side note you dont want to go doing any real feeding or anything a couple weeks or so out any ways if everything is dialed.so avoid feeding anything a cpl weeks or so out imo,2.5 - 3 weeks if your soil is tailored right.

Thanks.
Curious how you time the trichomes?
I'm at day 60 and they are shifting from clear to cloudy.

I never go by day.I go by ripeness. get a jewlers loupe with an LED on it and check them from time to time. a nice full cloudy to a mild amber cloudy mix is always a good choice too. best terps in many strains and better meds overall.

I know that.
I was wondering if you start your finishing process after the trichs are ready?

What eyes said, but try not to chase amber too far with Autos. As long as you have mostly cloudy with at least some amber, you are getting very close. It is the trichs on the calyxes that count, the ones on the leaves are less important. You will be smoking the buds after all...

Good luck with the grow. :goodluck:

Oops, missed your latest reply. If the trichs are ready, you chop. Leaving them another two weeks to "flush" will bugger your quality.

You are going to get the whole gamut of opinion about the flushing business. If you insist that flushing is a good idea, one of the problems is that it is difficult if not impossible to predict a couple weeks ahead of time when your trichs will be just right. So you end up starving your plant and screwing with its EC levels for two weeks, potentially halting its blooming progress substantially because you think they might be ready in a couple weeks, which they may not be.

Not my cuppa. I just taper the nutes back gradually and leave the plants fed at low nute levels until I chop. If you suddenly put them on ph'ed water, you are seriously stressing the roots which are accustomed to a much different osmotic environment - not a good idea quite aside from starving them. To each his or her own, choose yer poison.

Good luck, and watch yer trichs... :pighug:
