New Grower Kat's first time

I'm no mathematician, but, I think there is ample room in this new grow area. Even when I do a photo, just FIM and LST and I will still have enough room for 2 plants. What ya think guys? Is this good enough for personal needs? Do I need more than this for 2 plants?

I got the final measurement of the new grow room. It's 3' 8" tall, 3' 3" long and 3' 4" deep. I can't do math without a calculator and 40 toes, so I am gonna guess here and say ............it's got a few square feet of grow area. I hope I didn't hurt anyone's feeling in my last post, if I did, I apologize, it was unintentional. I REALLY do suck at math. I have to use google's gram converter just to figure out yields in ounces. (and don't get me started on centimeters) Again, I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings, I just can't do math. :(

i would say you can do two fine there but you may have to limit pot size/lst them a bit depending on strain. or have a backup plan to expand if needed. make a box each etc.
i grew 5 plants in a 4ftx2ft(high) vivarium as my first indoor grow and got good results but its harder to make work well. the smaller you go the more heat becomes an issue.
you probably know but id say you need a good bit more light in that area. im assuming the 3 there are just cause theyre small.

you want atleast 3-5000 lumens per square foot. multiply the width and length of your grow to get the square footage then multiply that by 3000 watts and thatll be the amount of lumens needed for minimum lighting in that area for good results. on the box/bulb it should say the lumen rating divide that in and itll tell you how many bulbs you need altogether. use 5000+ instead for more optimal results.

example:
2x4=6 square feet of growing area.

6x5000(lumens)= 30,000 lumens are needed to achieve 5000/sqft

divide by the lumen rating of the bulb and itll give you how many bulbs of that output are needed.

for two plant to me that seem really low light 3 26w cfl , then again i went the LED route right out the gate 2x4x7+=56 cft vs your 42 cft, and im running 3 plants( i could do 4 or 6) with around 300-360w with 3w bout a 100 per plant and 50w per sq ft 3(5gal btw), but theres a CFL guide and calculator some where in the cfl lighting forum here. if size is the issue you could always drop a pot size and do 2 3g instead of a 5 or 7 depending on how you space it and growing tech(scrog or sog) and do variety instead of short term weight and try a bunch a diff sweet buds and find one or a few :D that fit you.

Thanks for the input!!! I can't afford even 1 more cfl right now and I never plan on more than 2 plants at one time. I have 3 65w, 6500k, 4000L in there now and they aren't cheap. It took 3 months getting 1 bulb at a time to get those lights in. I have decided that sativa's are out of the question so am sticking to indica dominant strains. Heat is absolutely no problem, the highest it will probably get is 80. There is excellent ventilation and, so far, the hottest it has gotten is 77 F. Putting in even 1 more light will cost around $40, $35 for the bulb (includes shipping cost) and another $10 for the cord + socket. :( I'm outta money and it isn't looking good for the near future.

Did a bit more research on the seeds I got. Blue Rhino only grows to a max indoor height of 39.37" and Afghan Skunk is also a max indoor height of 39.37". I don't have any more auto seeds atm. Height wise, I have plenty of room for them. Unfortunately, Blue Rhino's require 5gal or better planter size because it has an extensive root system, this mean only 1 of these at a time. The Afghan Skunk does not and is supposed to be extremely hardy and does not require a whole lot of space/planter size and I can probably fit 2 at once.

Your Thread has 420 Likes!!! LMAO!!

You know what guys? I don't care about the likes so much as getting my info out here where people like me can see it and appreciate how hard it is for a new grower. It's about helping each other out in their time of need and getting help when you need it. It's about talking to other people about what they and you like to do and cheering each other on. It's about letting others know your sad or happy or that you messed up and they say it's Ok. I could go on about what it is to me, but I'd bore y'all to tears. :p

Kat.... i like your slinky style:smokebuds:
