Hey everyone I wanted to soundboard about spectrum specifically kelvin temperature within cobs and led diodes.

Im currently running vero 18s that are 3000k and look noticeably cooler than my previous citizen 1212s @3500k. I bought them because 3500k was sold out and thought 3k would do fine.

Green Gene's recent tech talks were talking about cri and or developments in far red and or something about newer chips renerding reds great at 3000k

Is anyone flowering under 3000k veros or other brands? How do they compare to warmer set ups?

Lol I remember when everyone said leds don't grow lol got to love AFN on the bleeding edge of the game on all fronts..id like to know this answer too. I'm a bit of a nerd lol [emoji851]

Just a quick question:. By cooler do you mean cooler K°, or cooler visually? Cooler by manufacturers terms is more of a bluish white and warmer is more red... but as amateur lighting students, we all know that this is actually backwards from the real K° scale.

Fun fact:. The K° value given off by any light emitting object is a direct example of what a piece of iron would look like at that temperature.

Yes I meant cooler kelvin temp. I'm running some 3000k vero18 instead of 3500k I've previously used with good results and can notice the difference substantially in the overall colour of the light.

Yea, couple of grow under them. Go with 90 CRI if you want more red. I think that is good idea as 3000K has enough blue to veg.

Fairly sure I have 80, at the time I think I wanted them due to the higher efficacy than 90 cri but 90s were sold out anyway...

Have you noticed any growth difference between warmer and cooler k with your diys? Eg. Squat/tall bush/stretch? Now I'm thinking I had green poison under 3500k that went really tall for an indica.

I'm stumped on what my next rig will be as the markets changing so quickly. I'm looking to build a rig for a 1- 1.2m2 space but if smaller warmer diodes are bringing gains I want to understand a bit more before designing a frame.
