Selfish is a last ditch effort by a plant to save the genetics if a plant has not been Polinated, whether done by nature or by man, it is a technical inbreed. It is not a way to continually pass on good generics, they will degrade over time.
A clone IS the mother plant, no genetics have been "passed on" as it is the original plant weather it's the first clone taken or the 1000th. This is why a Comercial grow clones from mothers and doesn't grow from seed, stability of genetics.
To correctly pass on genetics for untold generations, a male and female will be needed for any individual strain.
I am by no means an expert, but have grown for close to 30 yrs and this is what I've seen, having both, cloned same mother for several years, and selfed genetics to save a strain that couldn't be replaced. The genetics come from the mother, but are not an exact copy of the mothers.
hi Arthur,
Do you believe there is a difference, in terms of DNA, between:
(*) The mother plant
(*) Plants grown from the seeds, of the self-fertilization, of the mother plant.
If they have different DNA, please explain why.
Thanks for your help
