Hey all i am in the market for new lights but on a budget. i was looking at the Pre-assembled 240W KingBrite quantum KB-QB288X2-LM301H+epistar 660nm samsung led grow light from ali. i was thinking of getting 4 of them for a 4x8 area, anyone know if these are worth the wait for shipping or should i go with 4 315 cmh instead ? the led would be a cpl hundred cheaper.

thanks!

I don't know what the wait times are like at the moment but I waited 4 months for some parts this year. Have you seen this information: Maybe something else will work as well that is already stateside? There is so many choices in lights.

i browsed that thread a bit but was tryna get a feel if anyone used these and how were the results/yeild.. i know they said times arent as long as a few months back and told me maybe 2-3 weeks. prob wont need them for another month or two as i have old back up lights that are on last legs lol

Oh! Well if it is LEDs vs HIDs IMHO LEDs win.

Silly me. I was like this every day for four months:

it traumatized me .

LOLL im like that when i order seeds so i know !! and i think it will be LED or CMH unless those are the same as hid
Sorry about that short hand - stoned you know :pass:. Ceramic Metal Halide CMH is a type of High Intensity Discharge lamp HID. I never even considered them for where I grow, I could never deal with the heat. You need to hear from someone that grows with them? I am biased.

haha naw ill take your word. i dont mind the heat central canada.. and basement so i actually prefer the heat in the winters lol summer is a diff story though. now you got me thinking what would be cheaper to heat up room in winter with led or cool room in summer with hid haha ill have to figure that out

Those alibaba lights with the samsung diodes really blow everything else away in terms of $/watt. $0.49/watt !!!!! If it's legit samsung diodes and MW driver I would guess that it will come in around the same as all the other qb style samsung lights at around 1.9 to 2.1 PPFD/watt. Not even sure why all these companies even bother making up names for their product, they should just call them Samsung boards.
