My leaf surface temperature is almost always 2° (F) lower than ambient. My grow is in an unfinished garage attached to my house in Southern California so I can influence the temps but not control them. My temps of the last three months are attached. The temps fell off after my harvest a few days ago.
Are you familiar with vapor pressure deficit? I'm asking because leaf surface temperature is one of the values used to calculate VPD and VPD is a big issue when it comes to plant growth.
I prefer leaf temp. ≤75˚F and air temp. ≤80˚; with (as reported) the leaf temp. essentially always lower than the air temp. due to leaf evaporation/transpiration cooling.
