I agree 100% Nam. The calcium defi. will cause rusty spots while mag. defi. will cause yellowing between the vains of the leaves...But its most common to have both issues at the same time imo
Hey Blackbart! ..the guys are spot on with the diagnosis,...5.8 isn't a serious lockout Ph range, so that's good... just this one showing symptoms, ay? That's not uncommon either, auto's can be individually funny like that! Best fix I think is a foliar spray of a Ca-Mg product; this is fastest by far for getting into the plant; also, using a water spreader of some kind to cover the leaf surfaces to the max is key! If you're not familiar, water spreaders are used to take the surface tension out of the water or soln. being sprayed, so it forms more of a sheet coating rather than beading up.... more surface area covered=more uptake! Top and bottom of leaves, too... do it earlier in the day, out of direct lighting, so it can have a chance to absorb some, then dry off and avoid mold issues! As for the media you're in, adding some to that of course will help, but as a soil guy, I better let the other homies here give you advice on that! You've come to the right place, mate.... :
If you have some you could use some dolomite lime. I had a cal-mag lockout and my ph had dropped to 5.4ish in soil so I treated with 1 tbsp./gallon of soil and mixed it into the top few inches of soil then watered them slowly. I also added dolomite lime to my feed water my ph was far lower then yours so id just add it to the soil, and when you feed maybe try adjusting your feed water ph up to 7 and then check your run off
