Leaf tips turning brown

Hi there
Newbie with probs with 1 of 4 plants! I'd posted this to the Newbie threats & someone pointed this direction. One thing that someone mentioned on that thread was that I might be watering too much, but I decided on that much because the soil was so dry that it was dust!

UPDATE: I posted here for 1 plant, but another plant (diff variety) has also has a brown leaf tip - I noticed it today when I took them out to adjust the LST

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be really grateful!

-Problem: leaf tips turning brown
-Medium/grow method: Soil - Biobizz light mix in 16 lt pots
-Feed and supplements used: Biobizz bio-grow, acti-vera, bio-heaven – all ½ doses (1 ml each in 1 lt DI), every 7-8 days. Watering - 1 litre room temp every 2-3 days (finger in soil to check dryness)
-Water source: DI

-Climate: Day temps 22-25 C, night 18-21. Oil-filled radiator in grow tent (too cold without!). Grow tent 1m high x 70 x 80
- Light used: LED, 75 watts; light cycle hours 20/4; distance to tops approx. 40cm (1’4”)
-Additional info: This is my second run (1st time with Sweet Gelato Auto). The week before I noticed that the leaves were clawing upwards & @St. Tom & @automan2 & @MesaBoogie (I forgot to say thanks here to mesabooge - it was LATE when I originally posted this! Thank god for edit!) were really helpful - so I highered the light & moved the plant away from the heater - the clawing relaxed. Then Inoticed the brown tips about 2 days before sending this. I have another Sweet Gelato Auto, same age etc, but no probs. Also, only 1 of 2 of the Fast Bud 2 has a brown leaf.

So, you say there was a bad dry-out earlier? This can damage roots, stress the plant and mess with pH,... new growth looks OK, other symptoms not bad either,... I'm thinking this is largely a hiccup due to that. Did she get a proper soaking since? Dry out s if bad enough can make for patches of soil that don't rehydrate well unless watered well. Heft the pot, try to remember what it felt like when first made up and well watered, that's your calibration of sorts...
Biobizz line is good, but i'd get the AlgaMic going too, for more complete nutrition. Start to up the feeds too, as it's a mild nute line and half may not be enough soon...

Hi Waira - nice to meet you & thanks so much for taking the time buddy. A zoo here?! Mate, it's a bloody zoo everywhere right now, lol - no worries!
The dry out. I realise I wasn't clear. Around the roots (or the planted jiffy disks) & surrounds, I'd kept moist. The dryness was outside that zone - I noticed water would just run over the top of the soil & out the side of the cloth pot. I'd read here (somewhere!) that that's not good, so I gave each a litre, slowly, waiting for it sink in. I did that about 3 times with 2 - 3 day intervals. I was using the finger method to check dryness, but on the advice of @automan2 I ordered a soil moisture meter (arrives this week). I also found a bluelab soil pH pen - but it arrived faulty & the seller is being a dick about taking it back. So I still can't check soil pH!
I'm growing in quite difficult conditions, meaning I had to install an oil filled rad & insulate the tent.
Although I've been monitoring them like a classic newbi neurotic lol & it seems that it appears to-be isolated to 2 leaves on 2 plants (1 Fast Bud Auto 2 & 1 Sweet gelato Auto - sweetseeds) & not spreading.
Oh - and I'll defo take your advice about picking them up to check, algamix & the other nutes, thanks (I ain't smart, but I'm smart enough to know when someone smart is giving me smart advice!)

Shall I just keep an eye on things & let you know if there's any change?

Ah, I forgot to add in getting a wetting agent, basically a "soap" that help take the surface tension out of the water/soln. so it penetrates better and faster,... Yucca extract, or I like Coco-Wet myself,...
Bummer on the BL soil pH tester, make you wonder about the seller - ...those are pro' grade tools, not cheap! I use the Accurate 8 soil pH probe (CPW), which has served me well for several years now... Works the same way the cheapo skinny probe units/multi-meters do, but much better built and accurate unlike the cheap crap....

Hope ya get your ph pen figgered out. Making sure of things going in is kinda important.....
As Waira mentioned, ya gotta dissipate the surface tension....my trick is: I keep a spray bottle of very diluted dish soap that I use to spray the top of each pot before each watering/feeding. Changes the plants absorbtion rate too. Ever noticed where you wash your car? Grass is healthier and greener.
Hope ya moisture meter makes it easier than hefting that 16l pot. Us old folks have to do it the easy way!
BTW...why are you checking the ph of the light mix? As long as you control whats going in, there shouldn't be any problem. Overwatering/overnuting is prevalent. Personally, I've used light mix for years....never checked ph but damn you've got me thinking......

@Waira @automan2 - hi guys. Soap?! Wow - brilliant, thanks once again!
For th pH pen, lets see what happens (Amazon marketplace).
I had a look for the Accurate 8 - but I don't thi k you can get it this side of the pond.
That said, my hygrometer arrived - it's been in a while & it's around 40% - which is just about OK, right, considering yesterday was their 1 month birthday (I migh see if I can get it a bit higher - they're still in vegl
BTW - I kinda resolved the brown leaf tips on one plant... I accidentally broke them off adjusting LST, lol
Anyway, soil moisture meter & algamic arrive tomorrow

"soap" in quotes, stuff like Coco-Wet is plant derived, a non-ionic surfactant... I guess technically, it's a detergent, but what we think of in that is a powerful blend of ionic surfactants that are waaay too harsh for plants...

Ah, the brand name may not be, but the identical unit under a different name is,.. same Chinese factory, different brand! ...EKKOTech or something like that comes to mind...

Didn't realize I needed to be more technical with my "soap" comment....Household soaps are ionic ...meaning they dissolve in water. A Non-ionic soap does not dissolve in water and is only suspended or emulsified.
Huge difference.
Glad I didn't mention putting beer on my lawn.

Don't worry guys - I got the idea! I'm in the vertical learning & all these "little" things amaze me.
But @automan2 the ONLY place in the world you should spill beer on the ground is in the Andes, as an offering to Pachamama - otherwise, where I'm from, that's a hanging offence, that is lol

LOL...I've put beer on my lawn for 40 years...twice a year so I'm probably well blessed.
It's simply to reduce thatch at the ground surface...then the soap can get to the right spot.
