I have recently decided that i wanted to have a try at growing my own supply. this would be my first grow ever, and as such i am lacking a lot of experience.

I have a problem atm with the leaves, they keep turning yellow and the older leaves are dieing.

I am growing indoor in a 1,5*1,5 meter tent, with 600w LED, and i'm growing 5 plants(dutch passion - think different), aproximately 18 days old, in there (planning on SCROG).

the first 10-12 days or so i had them in pots with very bad drainage, so the leaves starting turning yellow due the water always being wet. i have replanted them into big 11L pots with good drainage, so i thought i had fixed the problem, but the leaves keep turning yellow around the point and edges of the leaf.

if anybody have any idea as to what might help, it would be much appreciated.

Hi Goodvibes :) Welcome to AFN!

I have recently decided that i wanted to have a try at growing my own supply. this would be my first grow ever, and as such i am lacking a lot of experience.

Looks like you've come to the right place! :)

We'll probably need a little more info before we can give you some decent advice.

What kind of soil are you using? - Does it have any nutes in
Are you able to measure your PH?
Have you been meansuring it?

Have your leaves been sat on the soil when its wet?
Have you fed anything yet?

Are they Autoflowers? (not that it will help the yellow leaves, but will help us get you on the right light schedule!)

Good luck with the first grow!
I'm sure we can sort these little problems and get you to harvesting :)

Happy growing
Blue ^_^

Have they been given any nutes yet?Have you ph'd your water? It looks like the new growth is ok so do not feed them for a while and just keep them moist not wet.

Welcome to AFN. Before we can begin to help you we'll need some basic information. What kind of soil are you using? What nutrients are you feeding, at what strength and how often? What is the pH of your feeds and the pH of your run off, which is the water than runs out the bottom when you feed. In many cases like this it's the soil pH that is off, causing the nutrients to become unavailable to the plant. Also, what is the temperature and relative humidity inside your tent?

Besides an nitrogen issue is your LED too close to your plants? Is the soil "airy"? Have you added perlite to lighten up the soil? Have you fed the plants? With what nutrients and at what rate? When you water do you go into a "dry" cycle before you water again? There could be a combination of issues here. Too wet of a soil; not enough nutrients or too much; LED lights too close; improper pH.
http://www.weedfarmer.com/cannabis/tables_guide.php This may be of some help?

This web site is very extensive on plant issues. http://www.growweedeasy.com/marijuana-symptoms

1st make sure you have the correct water pH before you go further. There are many other AFN members that may have a better answer(s) to your issues.

Good luck.

first of all, thank you for the warm welcome to the site :D

The soil i am using is potsoil with a bit of clay, and it contains the basic nutrients.
And yes, i am measuring the PH lvl to about 5,8-6,5 of the water going in, i do not have any measurements of the runoff water.
So far the only nutrients i have given them is root juice from biobizz at 2ml/l, and they have been given 2 doses of canna - terra vega at 1-2ml/l.

i am growing autoflowered think different from dutch passion, and they are growing under 18/6 light.

they have had some extra nitrogen from the doses of canna - terra vega, and the LED's are 40-45 cm from the highest point of the plant. Since i switched them to 11L pots i have had a very airy soil by mixing alot of lega rocks into it. i usually water them when the soil is dry 3-4 cm down. i feed them 2 liter per pot with 2ml/L rootjuice from biobiz and 1-2ml/L tera vega nutrients

The potting soil that you are using. Does it already have nutrients added? Could be that you have over fed them if the soil already has added nutrients.

No Worries Sport! :)

Possibly with the clay in there, the soil is a little heavy - canna likes a nice airy soil and a lot of people mix perlite in with the soil to make it easier for theroots. :)

PH may be a little low in soil at 5.8. Think soil likes it a bit higher (i'll leave it to the soil users to give you the low down on that)

Perhaps 2ml per litre is a bit strong on the Terra Vega at the mo - Autos ldon't like nutes too early and don't like full strength nutes - if you are following a guid on the back of the bottle, then stop - its meant for Photo periods and not autos (probably want to start at 1/4 of their recommended numers)

Other than that - let the pot dry out a little before next water.

Maybe someone here could suggest a foliar feed for you!

Can you be more specific about your soil? Is it a brand name? The basic nutrients, are they slow release?

That's a pretty broad range on your pH and depending on what the run off is reading, could be the cause of your issues. You may also be watering a bit too often. Cannabis plants like to go through wet/dry cycles. The best way to know when to water is to get a feel for your pots when they are almost dry. Only water when they feel that way. When you water, make sure to give enough so that about 10-15% runs out the bottom of the pots. Collect and test the pH of that run off water and let us know what that reading is. The more accurate you can be with those pH readings the better we can help you.
