Hey yall,
I'm in uncharted waters here as I'm using t5's, but I'm always looking around, trying to learn as best i can.
In thinking about my next grow and improvements i need to make and was cruising around amazon and stumbled upon these "led corn lights". They look like cfl grow lights but have little panel looking things instead of glass tubing. I'm having trouble locating anything here on afn about them.
sounds suspicious to me, but who knows. Anybody heard of them or have experience with them?

Cree introduced a new member of its 19-mm CXA family that exceeds 8000 lm and a new 23-mm COB LED array the outputs more than 10,000 lm with both targeting retrofit of high-output ceramic or pulse-start metal halide sources.

I've seen those led corn lights, and they're really intended for using in home lighting, but aren't very bright. The real deal led grow light use 3w or 5w or 10w emitters for example. The leds in those corn lights use fractions of watts, so even though they can cram alot of leds together and seem almost bright enough for a light bulb, it just isn't emitting enough photons to appropriately penetrate into plant leaves. It's good to keep thinking though :) If you want an easy way to add to your T5's, you can add some twisty cfl bulbs, they'll out perform those corn cob leds for about the same cost and just a few more watts. :)

Nope, nope and nope

Ah, I've never even heard of them or seen them, but then again I'm not in lighting so.....lol
I hadn't planned on going led at least not yet. Was just clicking around looking at 4way sockets and cfl grow bulbs and such and they came up. Hey somebody needed to ask eventually, might as well be me!

I no a few using them and getting beast grows.. so that home use ..is a certian cobb.they have cobbs for grows with most led makers sellers etc.. just for grow mars has one or so.. google cob led grow lights..

I know this was a while a go, but the corns bulbs have really come along way in the last couple of years, you need the bulbs with the SMD5630's, a 60w is equivalent to at least a 200w HPS apparently, it is the same tech as those Quantum Boards from Northern Grow Lights except they use Samsung SMD's.
