Hello

I'm about to setup my indoor grow but am not sure about the lighting aspects.
I will show you the space I have,

The measurements;

Width 120cm/47inch
Height 220cm/86inch
Depth 60cm/23inch

I've decided I want to go with LED lighting but I' don't know what model, wattage and spectrum I need.

Looking at topleds led lights they offer grow/flower/standard spectrum. What's the standard spectrum like, can it do both grow and flowering?

Does one Mars II Led Grow Light 400w seem sufficient to cover the full space?

That's a nice looking spot for a grow Letmeread. I use the 300w reflector light in my similarly sized closet with good results. It's got switches to run in low power 'veg' mode or 'bloom' mode only, or you can turn on both switches for full power on the full spectrum. I run the light on full power after week 2 and don't bother with veg or bloom specifically since I'm growing out autos. I wrote a review in the LED review section with links to my previous grows if you want to know more. There are also quite a few 400w Mars2 users on here also producing good results too. One of them will be along shortly i'm sure to chat up their light. The 300w reflector is able to grow out at least 2 nice sized plants in 3gallon containers, and certainly is enough for a single monster in 5 gallon container. I also successfully used it to start my veggie seeds this year.

Here's my 300w reflector light powering 6 ounces of prime Berry Ryder in a 5 gallon pot.

Oh and I almost forgot and you may know this already.... but 300w led is actually 190w draw. The 300w designation is based on the bulb type/capacity but not actually run at full power. so 100 3w bulbs will not run @ 300w, but rather about 60% draw so as not to burn out the bulbs.

Beautiful big monster there buddy!
The ability to switch between veg and flower seems nice, I don't think you can do that with the topled one.

On the other hand I intend on growing autos primarily, so I should be fine with a 'standard' spectrum I guess?

Nomis IS running a TOPLed Reflector Series with selectable veg setting or veg and bloom setting....The Mars II and the older models are full spectrum only. ;)

But running full spectrum the whole time is just fine....I'm having darn good luck with a full spectrum 135W (90W actual) full spectrum UFO.

One Mars II 400W (170W actual) would do a fine job in that space, especially lined with mylar. You need to check out my grow journal (skim it because it got ridiculously long) because my space is very similar to yours (closet grow)

I'll chime in, I'm running a TOPLED Reflector series 96 X 3w as well. Grow is in my signature. Good luck!

Looking at this model it seems the best fit for my space, how's the temperature of these models when running full speed? Getting ready to hit the order button :D

Fine, I use fan boosters for both intake and exhaust in my tent which sits in a sealed closet and my temps stay between 77-79 100% of the time.

Thanks guys, I'm now more confident and will proceed to order this reflector model asap :)

Hi letmeread, I use the Mars II standard spectrum, 300W draw light in a tent that has a meter square foot print. I am growing multiple plants (six) clustered together in a hydro unit. I wanted to make sure I had decent canopy penetration because of the density of the grow. This is my first grow and my plants are flourishing. Good luck!

I have the marsII 400 and I think you might do better with the 700. The 400 would only really cover 24-30 inchs of the width. The 700 would also allow you to expand to a larger space. I'm saying best case senerio here. the 400 would still do well in there you just wouldn't get much going on at the edges with out supplemental.
