is there an optimum time for when the bud is at its best ?

I believe it is best when kept at 58-62% relative humidity... then it can be stored indefinitely... check @Boveda for storing in jars or @Grove Bags for plain magic!.. I wanna get meself some of those badboys!..easy now!..

I find things seem to peek about 2 months after sealing, and that's where it stays for several months. I have a personal preference for 58% for anything 6 months or less. If its going to be over 6 months I bring it down a little more, like 55% before sealing.
There is an optimum time that relates to bud moisture content (10-15%) but to keep it simple, when it smokes smooth as silk, which is at 10-15% moisture content. Funny how that works.

hmm that comes down to taste/personal preference.
in some parts of the world they dont cure,they just smoke just dry buds.some peeps like 58% some like 65% some folk dont like grinders and crumble well dried/cured buds with fingers into dust.
for me 2 months in a jar,less than that and i get greeny chlorofil taste.around 18 months maximum cure,after that its sleepy cbd ish too dry taste.
perfect/optimum/within range/acceptable..........and then it tails off.personal preference.thats for the buds/the green bit.the trichs themselves are deterorating from the moment they turn amber.
