New Grower Lets get some data?

Just a thought though haven't done it yet, the topsy turvy's unspide down are narrow and also tall, can be has for a dollar at most discount stores... Will have to give one a go :)

Thanks JM,... I was kinda afraid of that,... those air pots have that taller cylinder shape, and from what I see here the plants certainly like that! I had it in my mind that those won't be a good choice for outdoors, but I never asked to be sure- until now! JM? Or anybody try these outdoors?...A while back when I was looking into smart pots I ran into another company, Gro Pot, that had that taller, slightly tapered sided shape,... I think they even offered some sort of plastic outer frame to help hold shape and stabilize them some.... I wonder that's the reason smart pots have such a squat shape, for stabilities sake,... alas, too late now for a change-up! I'm running some HR gear in smart pots outside, so with any luck in a few months we'll see :D

Modified Mustard! That's a great idea, and makes me kick myself for not ever learning how to operate a proper sewing machine! How many times now would it have come in handy,...:face:???!
You could sew a collar to the top as well to extend the height; wouldn't even have to be the same fabric, if you could find something suitable....or glue a plastic collar, say cut from basic nursery type pot- soft enough to cut, but stiff enough to add structure,... !! Hey, wait a minute, I just gave away my million$$ patent idea!! :smoke:

I was thinking sonnet tubes too... but i always want CHEAP... lol

I'd say go with a bucket or native soil... airpots when a plant gets bigger will require daily watering... can you access your spot for that every day?

if you can... then airpots would serve you weelll I think. :toke:

five gallon autoBlueberry got chopped, little over 400g wet.. we'll see how it dries. From what I gather that's pretty normal for ABB. 10 weeks exactly, harvest was a little early to my liking but I need some buds ya know! im going to try and take a picture of the root mass rinsed off to see how much of the 5 gal bucket was actually used, if successful ill post up some pictures. I would post a link to the ABB album but I have no idea how to do that!!

ok so I had a crazy busy week but managed to snap a photo of the root mass. And Ill just say that I five gal is no waste of space! She loved I,. without further ado...

its not the tightest root system but they pulled straight out after a few tugs, def. some healthy roots

As promised, here is the 5 gallon smart pot

So, I harvested one plant today. This is what the 5 gallon smart pots look like.

This is what it looks like with the pot removed. I will say, removing the bag was a pain. The roots were grown through every inch of the pot.

As you can see in the last picture, there entire amount of soil is being held together by the tiny fibrous roots.

Finally, this is what it looks like as I wash the soil away from the roots. As you can see in the picture, the soil is literally filled throughout with tiny roots.

And finally, what it looks like with 90% of the soil removed.
