I noticed today one of my Autoblueberry is kinda losing colour on some leaves, think it's only 2 so far. . It's almost like there's little fading to white, losing it's green colour. It's not REALLY bad but just wanted to check in on some advice. . It's definitely not nutes ( I'm not using any) . . I have a 250w HPS about 15 inches from soil and 7 1/2 inches from plant in question (She's 7 1/2 inches tall, 2 1/2 weeks old with pre-flowers) . . No leaves are burnt or yellowing on top but all new growth is curling under.
Is my light too close?? Maybe she got a little sunburn??

I always check the heat with the back of my hand and it's not hot whatsoever at the top of the plants. . . They're also on a 20/4 light schedule since seed. And lower leaves are paper thin and delicate . .

Sorry can't post pics at the moment
Thanks for replies :pimp:

Hey there P.O.D. I don't use HPS, but I'm pretty sure that's too close. Supposed to be more like 16 inches or more from canopy, but like I said, not 100% on that but someone will back me up soon.

Pics would be sweet when you can. What is she growing in? Could need Nitrogen, but hard to say with no pics.

Yes, we really need to see some pictures to tell what's going on. Doesn't sound like bleaching. Bleaching starts on the top leaves with yellowing in the center of the leaves working out toward the edges. Leaves curling under usually indicates too much N, but a light green color can be too little N. So without being able to see the plant, we're just guessing.

I know it's pointless without pictures but my computer is f'd at the moment so there's nothing I can do, I'll try raise the light and see if that makes a difference first off. . . Is there really a chance of too much/too little nitrogen even though I'm not using nutes??

Thanks for the reply guys, sorry I've no images at present, next grow I'll be doing a full grow journal :D

Peace :peace:

Well there is definitely a chance of too Little N if you're not using nutes. What mix are you growing in?

I don't think it's your lights. If it were heat stress from the lights the leaf tips would be turning brown and curling up, not down. What kind of soil are you using?

Sorry was away for a bit :pimp: :D

I'm 100% new to this so does this make sense : standard soil (pot soil??) mixed with perlite. . . The new growth is very slow to open. A couple of hours later and everything is green now (weird) but very top is still slow to spread the leaves. . I was hoping to do it without nutes ( if that's even possible??) I got some Blackstrap Molasses today but that's about it. Very hard to get nutes where I am unfortunately :( . .

Only nutes I have is Bio-Nova Autoflower Supermix which came with my grow equipment.
Thanks again guys :D

(I know I'm not making it easy for any answers, sorry if it's a bit confusing :D)

You can grow without nutes if you have good soil that contains a lot of nutrients. When you say standard soil, do you mean some you dug up from the ground or something you bought locally? If you bought it, there should be a list of what it's made from along with information about any nutrients it contains.

The Bio-Nova Autoflower Supermix does contain all the needed micro and macro nutrients but they don't list in what proportions, which is very important. They recommend using it in conjunction with PK 13-14, starting in the third week. I wouldn't recommend using it till week 5 or 6 after the plants vertical growth stops. So, depending on what's in your soil, it's likely that you will need a vegetative nutrient to use till they go into full flower. It should be higher in nitrogen to support rapid growth.

If you can't find things locally there are many options on the internet. Fox Farms nutrients are good for new growers like yourself. Reasonable priced and work well.

Thanks Muddy for being so patient with me

Haha no I bought the soil locally from a local growshop (only one i know of where I am) I'll fish out the packaging and have a look at what it contains, if I remember correctly I think it was a French company??. . I did check up Bio-Nova's website but wasn't 100% on it. The guys at the shop said the Supermix was all I needed from seed to flower ( nothing else??). And sadly this was the ONLY nutes they supplied. . .
I'm not relying on this grow, it's just to get a small bit of experience because i've done so much reading and studying and it was time to get my hands dirty. Next time around I was lookin to get FF Combo I think it's called? Read alot of people very happy using that. And I will do a journal with PICTURES.

I know I might sound like a terrible grower (I'm like a budget grower :D) but all 3 ladies are fully green and so big now so I think they've been ok so far. . . From what I know . .

Sorry about pictures, laptops screwed so I'm here through my phone and it won't let me upload any :jaw:

Thanks again Muddy:bow:

Glad to see it going good dude. Can't wait for pics. Take care. :D
