New Grower Light cycle?

mvalenz, that has been discussed so many times here. You can do it but you can expect some drop in yield and potency. THC is produced as a reaction to the intensity and duration of your lights. Granted, only so much THC can be produced as the genetic potential of the plant is the limiting factor, all other things being equal. But you will loose some yield and potency. How much? Who knows, it is impossible to calculate as each strain will react differently and has different genetic potential.
That being said, I have ran one strain 12/12 with my photos and was pleasantly surprised. The buds were fairly small compared to the same strain under 20/4 but the potency was still pretty good. So, if you don't mind a drop they will still treat you right.

A4 is right on and it does have a lot to do with strain, and honestly i would advise against running 12/12 until you have a good grasp of running autos in general. It's disappointing taking the time to grow something out that is lackluster that could have had the potential to be so much more. example, i grew out a strain called syrup under 12/12 because i wanted to run it with my photo. wound up with less than an ounce i think. Grew out the same strain a year later on 18/6 and got a 4.5 ounce yield, dry. No joke, both journals are floating around on my profile somewhere.
I asked the exact same question about a month ago. A mini debate ensued. You can read the responses here. The general consensus was that 12/12 is too little light. Whether autos require some dark time or not was undecided. But, it sounded like most people do 18/6.
Get yourself a barneys farm auto blue mammoth if you want it under 12/12
Ive got one on the go right now under 12/12 and its a bloody beast compared to anything else under the same situation.
Other than the blue mammoth i wouldnt bother doing any other autos under this cycle in the future.
