New Grower Light regiment

Has anyone done a comparison yet to the different regimes. Over a years period that is allot of hydro. between running 20/4 to 18/6 it is 720 hrs difference in a year. Now break that down to weight lost by running less hours. If an equation can be firgured out by someone who know math better than I we could get this one figured out with a calculator. We are getting fleeced in ontario. half our bill is delivery charge these new electric meters are not working out at all when they do not work HYDRO one does a rough calculation on what you might have used then they charge you that. Derek420, I have abused the few plants I have grown with all sorts of light during lights off. The interruptions haven't caused any herming. I turn the grow light on and off. I have a CFL that often stays on 24 hrs a day if I forget to switch it off. I don't know if it causes any other issues but not herming. Cheers

As for light leaks and autos, I don't think it matters much. I have those passive lower vent flaps open on my tent and surely light is massively leaking in there. Never had a hermie yet

Lower light hrs may tend em to stretch more and dont become so compact so ligt may penitrate better
= lesser light could make the light of more use? Just an idea

Thanks for the responses Antrho and Jack, that is kind of what I was thinking is that they should be pretty resistant to light stress due to their natural environment.
