New Grower Little Cheese Auto (Small) CFL Grow

All I will say is good luck buddy I had a little cheese auto take 9months about 3foot tall.

Wow! 9 months ehh? Not weeks?! That's wild... I was hoping to have mine in for around 10 weeks; any suggestions on what I should try for my next strain? Looking to stay as short/bushy as possible.

However, I like the indica/sativa hybrids too so I wouldn't mind growing something a little larger (maybe starting two babies in this box next time and putting one outside or something).

I'd love to leave these girls in the box for the whole run through, but I'm not sure how big they'll get :s so I was intrigued by the LST idea.

Thanks for replyin' Foopa!

I was also wondering about light cycles, since I was advised to leave the lights on 24/7 for the first while, and then switch to 20/4. What's the advantage of 20/4 vs 24 hours of light for autos? If possible, would it be best for me to keep it on 24hrs as long as I keep the room relatively cool, and the plants adequately watered? Since I often sleep at my girlfriend's place, I can handle having the 24hours of light. What do you all advise? Is the four hours of darkness particularly conducive for vegetative growth? Or just flowering? Etc...

Have a great week folks!

Day 15 // LST Stuff

Started LST yesterday on green, as pictured (Day14LSTday1). After about 24 hours I've already seen some noticeable growth on that side.

Introduced Pure Blend Pro Veg formula today.

With the LST, can I simply add a couple more stakes and tie down some larger fan branches to keep promoting more bud sites? And can I keep bending my plant down at greater degrees to keep the side growth going as well?

Thanks guys!

Forgot to add pics.....derp!...

I staked green yesterday, and then pink today.

Yes and yes.

The more you train the more sites will keep trying to reach for the light so you decide which branches go where and how high you want them to go. You'll need to keep adjusting the ties every now and then as they'll become slightly slack as the plant grows.
Just let the side branches and the original top of the plant to turn back towards the light, let it grow a little and then start again. Choose which you want to train and go for it. You can always undo the ties and let it recover and try again.

In answer to your previous questions I would have to say it seems to be personal preference as to whether you run 24/0 or 20/4. I like to give my plants a least a little bit of downtime to recharge and prepare for another day. If you were to ask me which one to do I would say give it a couple of hours darkness but really dude, it's up to you, person preference as I say.

Regarding a short and bushy beast to grow I would suggest an AK47 cross. Chunk-butt is AK's middle name. Can't go wrong both in the plants growth and potency of the smoke.

Have fun dude.

Thanks for the reply and the resources! I checked out Stunted`s stuff -- I had no idea these plants could gradually become so.... malleable...I guess that`d be the word. I`ll work them gradually and see if I can get some more buds out of the deal! The seedbank lady said I might get around 20g/plant -- is that a realistic figure (from the way they're lookin' so far)? I'd like to try and beat it! But I'm pretty happy with any yield whatsoever - this has been a really fun project.

I've been keepin' the lights at 20/4 and I guess I'll keep'er there!

I'd like to use some wire to LST from now on. Good ol' Oral B dental floss is working nicely so far....But some of Stunted's pics look really intense -- pretty much perfect 90 degree bends and shit hahah. SO cool.

"Just let the side branches and the original top of the plant to turn back towards the light, let it grow a little and then start again. Choose which you want to train and go for it. Thanks again for the input man!

Day 23

I'm having some issues here! Lower fan leaves are yellowing/turning slightly brown on tips. Taco problem seems to be fixed.

Pics attached to see where they're at.

Here's what I'm feeding them:::

Total Nitrogen: 3.0%
3.0% water
soluable potash 4.0%
calcium 1.0%
magnesium .5% (.5% water soluble magnesium)

I'm using around a half cap of the above and also some everyday feed called Liquid Karma which is as such::

Nitrogen -- 2%
Available phosphate 3.0%
Potash 5.0%
Calcium 1.0%
Magnesium .05%

Again, I'm using about a half cap of this for my half gallon watering can.

Am I simply over-fertilizing? And should I go back to water for a while until I introduce my flowering formula?? Do you guys think these gals are getting too much Nitrogen??

I watered with nutes yesterday, but I gave them a dose of distilled water today since I have to leave for the weekend....I pray to God that they recover some by the time I get back with less feeding, no nutes, etc.... It seemed to get worse today, and that was after feeding them with nutes yesterday. I've been feeding them a little bit everyday, but maybe I'm overfeeding them and theyre getting too much nitrogen?? Let me know what you guys think I should be doing!

They're gonna be sitting alone for two days without water or care and I'll hope that they're OK for Monday....

Lst is a good idea for this strain I an vouch for that got a 3 ft Christmas tree .
Listen to one good piece of advice less is more unless you were reusing soil that sat out all winter then yes NUTES are needed.
However if you have new soil there really isn't a need for you to be feeding so soon IMO.
I think you should jus give water and let the plant recover sounds like you have a slight NUTE burn or maybe ph lockout from salt build up blocking plant from assimilating key minerals.
Or you could flush and give a low dose feed so it has some bit of food to recover with as the flush removes salts and NUTES you would be handing your plant an empty plate if you don't give low feed.
