I am mid grow with a Viparspectra 450 light but have a COB setup coming in a couple days and I wanted to get an opinion from some of you experienced AFNers about changing the light at this point in my grow. I am excited about getting the new light but don't want to jeopardize what I've got going. I Would appreciate any input as this is my first grow and although my yield will most likely be small, I still want to end up with something to enjoy! I am tagging some people I've seen around the forum but please, if you have an opinion, please list it here. Thanks! @hippy71 @derek420colorado @Ripper @massgrass @BigSm0 @Duggy @Roasty McToasty

What is your new light?

I say you are fine but hang it about 12 inches higher than the one you are running now.. how high is that one above your plants now?
Current light is about 14" above plants and my tent is a Gorilla Shorty which is only 4'11" tall. The entire grow I have had to try different approaches to what most take for granted in order to make things work in my space. My fan and filter take up a bunch of real estate, so I'm not certain how much room I'm going to have above the plants, which is part of my dilemma with changing things mid grow. Next time around I can rearrange things now that I have some experience to draw from - this is my very first grow.

The cobs could burn your plants being that close i do not put mine any closer then 24 inches

Thanks Ripper! I will look at that when it arrives and determine if it is going to take a complete reconfiguration of the tent and if so I will wait until next grow. I appreciate your input very much - thanks.

Anytime bud tag me in your grow when you start using it

Hey dude [emoji3]

Can you put your filter etc outside the tent?

I Have my cobs down at around 12 to 15 inches now but only because my plants are all mature and In flowering so they can take it.

As you have accidentally discovered mate, supercropping may be your answer. A very good way to get around height issues.

I don't think changing lights will be a problem at all. Just make sure you put it higher than you think to start with as Ripper said.
