What's Poppin' Arsenal?
Welcome to Planet Cob. Lol.
First, let me thank you for including me in the group of cognoscenti you tagged. I am new, and have learned alot from Ripper's help , and watching those other growbros.
So, I also have the clu048, 9 each, 3500K, 3x3, center of the tent. I was soooo close to getting the "shorty", but the 7' one went on sale for 300$ so I measured my ceiling, and lucked out!
As far as distance from canopy, I went straight to the company Twitter for the real 411.
Horticulture Lighting Group got back to me in 5 minutes, & recommended a 30" gap. My light is fixed permanently to the ceiling, 72" off the floor. I use risers and lst to keep everyone in the sweet spot.
I hit up the Timber site for ya,....... and it goes a little something like this.........
"Q: How high above the plants should I hang my Timber light?
A: All our models are designed to provide uniform intensity and coverage at a height of 12”-18” above the canopy. Additionally, our lights come equipped with dimmers allowing you to adjust the light output and coverage area to suit your individual grow environment. Timber Grow Lights run very cool - cool to the touch - and can be used very close to the canopy."
Straight from the horse's mouth. Lol.
My light came with ,± 16" hanging cable and 3" caribiner leaving like 19" wasted space above it.
I think I learned from Raoul Duke to reconfigure the hang as tight to the ceiling as possible. I reclaimed well over a foot like this. And I'm using that foot alot.
Regarding LST / super cropping. I thought super cropping sounded a little agressive, but I did it by accident, and it seems to be working out.( See The White Train).
I had better luck LSTing my MBAP, and I'm tweaking that day by day. ( See MBAP)
I found if you bend em during stretch, the new growth is quite flexible and compliant.
Scrogs are cool and all, but I'm attempting Perpetual Grow. Plants are in and out. Mobility is of the essence. I've got a vision of bamboo, shock cord, and cushion wire to offer each mamacita an independent canopy management plan. Work in progress.
So then, extraction....
My stuff is all inside my tent, up in the corner, about even with the light.
I thought about putting it outside, and this is my understanding:
Yes, you can put fan and filter outside. I believe you will lose some cfm, from pushing the air through, as opposed to pulling it.
Also, if you are doing it externally, your seals need to be tighter than a duck's ass. Any leaks before that filter are emitting aromatics directly into your living space. Be careful.
I tried to cover the bases for you, but if I forgot anything, hit me up.
If I don't know the answer, l' ll research it for us. I love this sh*t. Ha!
Good luck with your girls, tag me in on the grow.
Most importantly, thanks for thinking of me!
