Water jet is ideal for things that can't be cut with heat, especially already tempered material.

Yup very true the big thing is the few times we would need it would take forever to pay for it self. I can count on one hand the amount of times we had to have something water jetted and that is mainly material over 1.5” once we hit that we have to edge pierce and get some kerf which doesn’t really matter for most the stuff we do

Can't you axis the head to counter the kerf?

No we just have three axis on our table forward backwards, right left and up down. That’s why we talked about upgrading to the HD plasma table with a 4 axis cause no matter what even if we had a water jet we would still have a plasma table we use that a lot
