The question is can you tell me if that square is actually square with using a square:doh::pighug::pass:
I worked with guys that didnt even know how to use a square. My first week my supervisor was trying to measure a bore by bending a metal tape measure around it. I told him to just measure it across and take it times 3.14, he had a fit and called me everything under the sun, I couldnt believe he didnt know PI, and asked him if it had killed him to pay attention one fucking day in school. He went to the plant manager and told him I'm an idiot and told him about the PI stuff I was using. He was informed he was the idiot. I eventually became his boss and stuck his ass in shipping banding crates. I cant have some moron taking a measurement with a dial caliper, and then having to hold it up to a scale cause he didnt know his decimals. Explains why all his reports for the previous 20 years, every dimension was perfect, he was writing down the numbers off the print. Stuff needs to be right for a submarine, 140 lives are depending on it.

Yup very true the big thing is the few times we would need it would take forever to pay for it self. I can count on one hand the amount of times we had to have something water jetted and that is mainly material over 1.5” once we hit that we have to edge pierce and get some kerf which doesn’t really matter for most the stuff we do
Most places that have them use it as a side business, not just for themselves. Every shop in your area would be sending you stuff. Like when we got our first Faro Arm, they would hire me out to local small shops to go check part for them.
