Do we have anyone in the group that's a wiz with ph pens. I need someone to tell me why my high point calibration fluid never stabilizes near what the high point reading should be but the low and neutral solutions always stop dead on. Im thinking this is why my plants get so out of whack after a few months. Because the 10.01 solution set point is skewing my readings.

If your solutions are fresh and it will not calibrate it is time for replacement.

Sorry the whole skit is funnier but to those who haven’t seen the show maybe 3 gifs from it didn’t encapsulate it very well! Its supposed to be a guy who is a hater of black people but he is blind so he doesn’t know he himself is black! Plus its a black guy doing the skit so seems more ok vs a random white guy saying it! Even in humor the "N" word is just too inflammatory for me. I have not seen the show and I understand the setup now but it does not change my response.

I give them a good swirl in distilled water between setpoints. The first 2 or 3 times I calibrated the new probe it always stabilized at 9.9 or 10.0 but now its like 8.5 to 9.0 and never goes any higher. How do you clean the bulb off, just rinsing it with pure water right?

It does say on the solution instructions use within 3 months of opening, you dont suppose its just bad solution now?

You can use a soft tooth brush and clean running water. Unless your meter requires it a two point calibration of 4 -7 PH is all you need instead of three. simply run your calibration 7 then 4 then just retest the meter in the fluids if they have changed then recalibrate and test again if it still wanders it is time for a new probe. Since you are in soil PH is not going to change much even if you are a full point off from the target with watering. If you are having problems in your grow you need to look elsewhere.

Thanks again MOG. Thats my plan for the future is 2 point calibration, those ones always hit spot on, gonna buy a new probe later this week.
