Mornin y'all! It's the Kentucky Derby today!

Put the coffee on and start fryin the eggs. Rainy day here, gonna head down to the track later and watch the Derby. Put a few bets out. I got some picks that ran good in wet muddy conditions, I think the favorites are not going to perform in that slop.

Got my rain gear, folding chair, and medibles. Should be a good afternoon! They cracked down so hard on bringing you own booze I'm glad I've made the switch. They charge $22/drink at the track.

Just up, coffee not started, and here I am. Kinda marginal...

Coffee soon, I try not to wake the dearest too early. The travel trailer ain't big enough to be banging around in the kitchen while she is still snoozing. Soon though...

One more day hiking and biking here, then off to Osoyoos on the first leg toward home.

Sounds as though you have an interesting day planned. Watching horses and riders of that level of ability must be a real treat.

So I think it's probably still Saturday, which means you can relax tomorrow too!

Gonna go get ready, however, if it thunders and lightnings I'm stayin home. I hate sitting around while they delay the races and some might not even go at that point.

Here's a quick one on the new top contenders for rainy conditions:

I've got money on Coal Battle and Final Gambit. Rodriguez will probably do well since he's in pretty peak condition with recent races. I always struggle on the horses that haven't run in a while. Are they better rested? or is it like starting a workout routine again, takes a while to get back up to speed.
