"If a law is unjust, a man is not only right to disobey it, he is obligated to do so"

Thomas Jefferson
Jefferson had a lot of great quotes. Most were about his hate for the press. Which is weird since he was the big supporter of freedom of the press.

Just like today, the press has their own agenda. Without freedom of speech/press everyone is screwed and thus the reason it is the first amendment. and there is a reason the 2nd amendment is right behind it!

Jefferson is still very popular here in Va. I live about 10 minutes away from Poplar Forest which was Jefferson's second home. Smaller version of Monticello, his main residence, which is outside of Charlottesville, Va, about and hour and 15 from here. Very interesting places. He was a great architect as well. some very ingenious features in the interior tool. If you are ever in the area, worth a tour

Good Morning All.........smoky day here today.........going to attempt to take the dog for a walk and then hide in the house until the smoke lets up. East wind is pushing the smoke from the fires this way. No more talk of evacuation so they must be making progress with the fires. I love where I live , but the anxiety from the frequent fires has me considering a change of venue. Have an awesome day and weekend......... :smokeout:

I visited his estate as a kid, My parents had a travel trailer, we went all over the place. But being a kid, I did not appreciate the stuff like I would today.
What most history documentary's do not cover, is the amount of wars the press drove us into, including the revolution. They love to embellish a story or event until they have the masses in a frenzy. It's powerful and can be extremely dangerous if not handled responsibly.

Have a bottle in the freezer. Don't really drink it much anymore, but we used to have a three bottle Jagerator in our house back in the day. 3 bottles in it every Friday and three more on Saturday

Baranjager is a honey version and really good. Not as easy to come by
Honey version that sounds awesome I saw there was a cold brew one to I saw it at the liquor store but I definitely didn’t think mixing jager with my coffee was a good idea I prefer drinking at night after dinner 😂

until the smoke lets up.
I say you combat the encroaching smoke, with a powerful cloud of your own smoke….. perhaps the fire will recognize a fellow traveler and bug the tourists instead….:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::pass:
